Join Our Family in the Forest

We are a family of four living in a peaceful forest house surrounded by nature. Our family consists of mom, dad, two children (13 and 9 years old), and our friendly dog.

We try to live a sustainable and welcoming life close to nature. However, it is difficult to achieve everything on our own, so we are looking for people who would like to come and live and work with us for shorter or longer periods.

We welcome people who enjoy socializing, sharing experiences, learning from others, teaching new skills, and helping with the many different tasks that come with maintaining a forest homestead.

Life here is active, hands-on, and closely connected to the rhythms of nature. We appreciate people who enjoy spending time outdoors, are willing to learn, and are happy to contribute to family life.

    What We Offer

In exchange for your help, we offer:

    * Accommodation in our forest cabin or camper van.
    * Shared meals and a friendly, family-oriented atmosphere
    * Opportunities to practice and learn **Swedish, English, and Danish**
    * Knowledge about forest living, local wildlife, foraging, and the surrounding area
    * A chance to experience Scandinavian family life in a beautiful natural setting
    * Plenty of opportunities for cultural exchange, conversations, and shared experiences

Whether you stay for shorter or longer periods, we hope to create a meaningful exchange where everyone learns something new and enjoys life together.

If you love nature, simple living, outdoor work, and being part of a family environment, we would be happy to hear from you and welcome you to our forest home. 🌲🐕🔥🏡

  • Help

    Help

We have a large land in the big woods in Sweden. On this land we have our main house, and 2 cabins for workers and for holiday rentals. We need a lot of help on the land. We only use wood for heating the houses, so a hand with wood collecting and chopping is always welcomed. We always have new projects going on, so help with preparing family meals and general maintenance is much appreciated.
We fish and collect berries, mushrooms and more from the nature during summer, and we would love to have help and teach others what we know about cooking and preserving food.
We build most of the things on our land ourselves, and it would be great if somebody with building experience are interested in coming, and help with construction and other building projects.
If you know about music, gymnastics, art or any thing else you can teach us and our kids, we are very happy to learn new skills and love meeting and learning about new cultures etc.

The help we need varies throughout the year and may include:

    * Collecting and carrying wood from the forest
    * Chopping, stacking, and organizing firewood
    * General maintenance and practical projects around the property
    * Helping with dinner preparation and occasional household tasks
    * Garden maintenance and seasonal outdoor work

    Accommodation

We have two private cabins on our land, with compost toilets, small kitchens and double beds. Shower will be in the main house, together with washing machine. Both cabins are 25 sqm. and have views of the surrounding mountains, and a terrace to enjoy the beautiful view. When cabins are rented out we offer living space in out camper van.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

The house is located in the middle of the woods, with very limited public transport, but we go to town at least once a week, where workers are very welcome to join. Otherwise there is a lot of hiking trails and lakes around, so if you love nature this is the place for you.
We really enjoy meeting new people, having nice conversations, making bonfires and sauna evenings, and you are very welcome to take part of all this. But some of the evenings will be dedicated to some family time on our own. So you need to be able to spend your free time, on your own as well.
