  Hi there, I’m Maja from Kisovec (Zagorje ob Savi), Slovenia. I am fascinated by the beauty and wisdom of nature. I am very keen on the simple, yet cozy countryside living, which includes gardening, working around the house, including stacking firewood for the winter, preparing freshly picked seasonal vegetables into delicious meals, baking bread, reading books, and walking my dog in the nearby forest. I love rock music and traveling (hiking) as well.
  There are always some new projects with my house or its surroundings on my mind, improving the current situation or simplifying things.

  You will be introduced to local Slovenian culture, our daily life and routines. You will experience the coziness of living in the log house, taking walks in the forests, tasting Slovenian food, enjoying our tradition of drinking freshly picked and prepared herbal teas… You will got an impression of our perception of life and our values.

  Help

  I would need volunteers' help with simple tasks such as stacking firewood for the winter, gardening (weeding, picking the vegetables), helping in the kitchen (help with preparing the meals and canning the vegetables for the winter),
  housekeeping – tasks that are mostly done by hand. And primarily, taking our dog for a walk two times a day (early morning and the evening).

  Accommodation

  The lovely backyard cabin is available with a shared bathroom and kitchen capacities in our log house. There is a desk and wifi in the house (living room) for those who need to work remotely. There is also a lovely garden at the back of the house.
  Please kindly note, our dog Roxy is considered a family member therefore she is living in the house and is jumping all over the place.
  Please kindly note, that smoking in the house or backyard cabin is not allowed.
  Four cooked meals min per week are offered, breakfast too, water, coffee, and tea, free of charge for the duration of your stay for the exchange of your everyday help with the mentioned tasks.

  What else ...

  In the municipality of Zagorje, there are some cultural and natural sights to discover, including hiking trails. In the town of Zagorje, there are some coffee shops and bars, and a museum. There are good connections to the rest of the country via both train and bus. The house is 10 minutes from the main highway (Ljubljana - Celje - Maribor) or 10 minutes from Zagorje railway station, both connecting the rest of the country.
