    Description

My husband and I live with and tend some land on which we welcome home schooling kids, their families and various people for courses.

We have a strong background of nature connection, deep nature awareness, primitive skills, permaculture, forestry, body work, nutrition and science which we embed in all we do.

The land is situate in the north of Piedmont 35km from the Monte Rosa and 15km from lake Orta at 800m a.s.l.

Forested mountains on slopes with meadows.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are Italian and Canadian as background and we lived abroad and traveled as well.
We settled here to practice our skill and share them with people around slowly creating a "community" that help each other and live joyfully nearby.
We also support homeschoolers of different age with nature connection, awareness and didactic activities.
It is not an easy valley but it is beautiful and you can find many people like minded if you search well and stay open.
Sharing meals and activities such as hiking in the mountains or going to swim in the lake or river, exploring the wild places is something we do love to share as well as some of the local traditions spread in the valley.
We speak Italian, English and French and understand a bit of Dutch and German, but here around you will be forced to learn a bit of Italian or gesture!

  • Help

    Help

We look for help for a variety of jobs: planting trees, remove blackberries, spreading wood chips, structuring and maintaining small trails, help with hay, tending the garden, preserving food in various way, creating necessary material for the kids and helping in making the land and our structures more and more functional and beautiful.

We will accompany the people coming here in their tasks and also welcome their inputs and ideas.

We will share deep nature connection routines and other skills when on the to do lists. You might be also asked to support some courses or circles and in these cases you will be welcome to participate to when not busy with some other task.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We can offer a small house with a small bathroom with shower, kitchenette, one bedroom with double bed and a bunk bed and an additional little mezzanine in the living space. It is an old house with wooden stove that you will need to run constantly to keep it warm and being small it will be easy!

You will have your little fridge and kitchen so you will be welcome to cook for yourself or to share food with us. We will make arrangement as not all evenings might be possible or desired to eat together.

Even if old and small we expect you to treat the accomodation well.

In alternative we can also provide you with a tent and sleeping gears, and the use of the bathroom which might not be warm then!

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We do not own a car even if for shopping and other activities it would be useful. We borrow one once a week for the basic needs. The closest place to do some grocery is in a tiny shop in the village 2km or at 7km distance where you have supermarkets, restaurants, a cinema and a theater.
We will need to agree on the moving times.
