    Into the Wild

Some mornings, when I wake up and look out over the valley, I still can’t believe I live here.
The trees whisper while the river hums in the background, and the land stretches out in its wild, untamed beauty. Two hectares of young oak forest at the edge of a nature reserve. And somehow, this is home now. Not perfect. Not finished. But alive, and exactly as it’s meant to be.

Hi, I’m Francisca. I live off-grid in my always-almost-finished house in the middle of nature, surrounded by rivers and silence. When I arrived here, there was nothing. I lived for two years in my caravan, slowly starting to shape this place into a living, breathing home.
Now, there’s a small house, two hidden caravans, and a long list of things waiting to be built, cleared, planted, fixed or dreamed into being. This land is becoming a space of beauty, rest, creativity and wonder.
If you enjoy hands-on work and finding your own rhythm, this might be a good place for you. We pick up projects as they arise: a new pathway, a sauna, a greenhouse, an outdoor shower. Sometimes we figure things out as we go. Like Pippi Longstocking said: “I’ve never tried that before, so I think I can do it.” And sometimes, when it doesn’t work, we ask for help. And learn.

    Accommodation
There are two caravans on the land, each with its own simple kitchen. They can host two couples or a mix of singles and couples. We’ll adjust depending on who comes. There’s also space for a campervan or tent if you prefer to bring your own setup.

Most days, you cook for yourself . We sometimes share meals when it flows naturally. There’s a shower in the house, compost toilets, and plans for a permanent outdoor shower and a small sauna this year.

There’s no fixed rhythm. We usually work a few hours a day, either together or independently, in the mornings or afternoons. The rest of the time is yours: to rest, read, explore the river pools or simply enjoy the quiet.

At the moment I’m writing a book, so I won’t always be outside or available for structured daily hosting. But I’ll make sure you feel at home, and have everything you need to land well here.

There’s a warm local community around: yoga classes, little markets, inspiring neighbors. You can join when we go out, if you feel like it.

    About Me
I live a simple and healthy lifestyle. I eat intuitively, mostly plant-based, sometimes not. I enjoy singing, sound healing, yoga, meditation and creating beauty in small things.

My work is rooted in presence. I guide people through voice, sound and stillness, inviting a deeper connection with the spiritual self and life. If there’s openness in the group, I share sound healing, guided meditations and re-connection ceremonies..

If you're practical, self-responsible and ready to co-create beauty and comfort, come. It’s not polished. But it’s real, alive and full of wonder.
The land, and I, would love your help in shaping it into form.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Well… that depends. You might learn how to dig a hole with love, how to make tea in silence, or how to build something without knowing how to start. You might also find yourself talking to trees — and actually enjoying it.

Life here has its own rhythm. Slower, quieter, and often more honest.
You’ll probably pick up some hands-on skills, maybe discover new ways of working with your body, your breath, or a piece of wood. But mostly, you’ll learn by being part of something real — unfolding in its own messy, magical way.

And who knows — you might leave with more dirt under your nails, more stars in your eyes, and fewer tabs open in your head.

  • Help

    Help

We’re in the first phase of bringing a long-term vision to life, and right now, that means hands-on help is very welcome.
There’s still a lot to build, shape, clear, and create. This place is not polished or finished. It’s alive, unfolding, and asks us to meet it where it is.

There’s also room for skilled hands.
If you bring experience and craftsmanship, your contribution will be valued — and financially appreciated — in alignment with what I offer local professionals.

Feel free to reach out and explore the possibilities.
We’ll talk and feel in together whether our co-creation is a good match — for both of us.

Life in Portugal moves at a different pace. Plans and goals are important, but this land teaches us to stay close to what the moment is asking. Some days we follow the vision, other days we respond to what suddenly feels essential.

What always comes in handy is a willingness to learn and not be afraid to get sweaty or dirty.
It helps if you’re someone who feels at home with your feet on the earth, and your hands creating something from it.

We will take care of the land and the trees, get creative with willow, build and construct, get dirty — and hopefully feel really happy and satisfied with the results.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

The lush bio divers environment here is amazing. There is so much water...
We are 1 hour away from the Atlantic ocean beaches and right at the foot of the "montanhas mágicas".
Immerse yourself in the crystal-clear waters of myriad river pools, walk breathtaking hiking trails, ancient Romanroads, or wander through captivating abandoned villages and visit majestic waterfalls. Sit between the locals at the cafes and Pastelerias and try out all the names they have for different types of coffee.

The group dynamic, our personal needs and the here and now and other circumstances (like the weather) determine if we plan trips together, if we work or if we spend the weekends as a group or not..

If you come with a tent or a campervan than you have to be able to provide yourself with enough battery power. it is best to buy a data card here to make a hotspot for yourself. Reception is good on the land with NOS and MEO.
