    Description

We are blessed to be located on 8 acres of tropical vegetation (only approx 2 acres is garden, the rest is subtropical rainforest) with beautiful vistas on the mountains, river and forest. There is an abundance of bird life. (Over 60 different species) As we are on a hill in front of the Bellinger river and 3 minutes from beautiful North Beach we get lovely coastal breezes.

We are a happily married couple in our late 50s, young at heart and energetic with 2 cute small dogs. We have traveled the world and relate well to travelers. We have approx 2 acres of garden, a combination of fruit trees, native and tropical plants. And after a very fertile summer everything needs to be cut back, weeded, mulched, paths need to be regraveled, the vegetable garden needs to be cultivated and prepared for next season, and it generally needs a good tidy up.

We are perfectly located on the Mid North Coast, 25 minutes South of Coffs Harbour. Our house is a 3 minute drive to North Beach which is a wild beach, in front of a beautiful river and we are also very close to the Bongil Bongil National park, 20 mins to Bellingen, 20 mins to Sawtell, 10 mins to Urunga, 1 hour from Dorrigo national park. It’s a nature lover’s paradise. We offer a very comfortable ensuite room (50m2) with its own private bathroom with beautiful views on the garden. High speed internet, WIFI, you are welcome to enjoy the pool and garden and we have bicycles and kayaks you can use. We have space for van parking. We enjoy cooking and we will provide you with delicious and nutritious meals. We are carnivores.

We are looking for enthusiastic travellers who are happy to weed and garden. A good level of English or French is required. A car is essential as we are remote.

We are located in one of Australia’s most beautiful areas, close to many beaches, cycling tracks, rivers which are perfect for kayaking, national parks which offer excellent hiking, and a variety of cute towns to visit which are close by. Our area is full of native birds.

This is the perfect spot for sporty outdoorsy people but also perfect for someone who just wants to enjoy the quiet and the beauty of this area. It is Australia at its best. Our garden consists mainly of Australian native and subtropical plants.

  • Help

    Help

We need helpers who enjoy and have gardening experience. There is a lot of weeding, clearing and cutting back. We need to mulch the garden and regravel the pathways. This would suit strong and energetic young people. We are looking at 4 hours of daily work, morning or afternoon, we are flexible. We will provide meals. I would anticipate 2 weeks maximum of work with weekends off. Our garden is truly beautiful and we always only get great comments. It is filled with birds and birdsong, and a big variety of plants, native and tropical. The helper would need to enjoy weeding, and doing general garden maintenance.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There is limited public transport so this is only suitable for helpers with vehicles. Our beautiful beach is a 3 minute drive, the river is in front of our property, there is a cafe nearby and a variety of towns nearby. The Bongil Bongil national park is just minutes away.

We have both travelled extensively and have lived in Asia and Europe and in different parts of Australia. We are easy going people and are looking for helpers who can work independently without supervision. We are flexible and are happy to work with the schedule of the helpers. We are honest and straightforward and believe communication is key to a happy working relationship. We want everyone to live in harmony whilst staying with us. The experience should be rewarding for everyone. We have lots of great travel advise around our area and Australia wide.
