Hello everyone, I am a 54 year old woman. My name is Xaviere. I live in a small village of 500 inhabitants lost in the middle of the mountains at an altitude of 550 meters, in the Pyrénées-Orientales, 1 hour from Perpignan, in the south of France. I live in a large old house, right in the center of the village. I got sick in 2020 and since then I have no longer been able to take care of the house and do DIY work. I would like to welcome people for short stays. I can accommodate you. In exchange, I would like help around the house (cleaning, tidying up, small DIY and gardening). The terms are to be discussed between us. Before any discussion, note that: - the house is very old and very cluttered. The rooms have not been redone except the kitchen. - the village is far from everything, 30 minutes from the nearest town and 1 hour from a large city (Perpignan) - in the village, we find: a campsite with a snack bar in summer, a café, an inn , a grocery store, a pharmacy, a doctor and nurses - there is a small play area for young children, a bowling green and a river where you can swim but the water is cold - there is an equestrian center where you can go for horseback rides (paying) - the Spanish border is close (around 1 hour 15 minutes) and Barcelona is 2 hours from the border - Andorra is also around 2 hours away - the sea is about 1.5 hours away and so are the mountains - there are lots of sightseeings to do and lots of things to discover, if you're willing to use your car... Bonjour à toutes et tous, je suis une femme de 54 ans. Je m'appelle Xavière. J'habite un petit village de 500 habitants perdu en moyenne montagne à 550 mètres d'altitude, dans les Pyrénées-Orientales, à 1 h de Perpignan, dans le sud de la France. J'habite une grande maison ancienne, en plein centre du village. Je suis tombée malade en 2020 et depuis, je ne suis plus capable de m'occuper de la maison et bricoler. Je souhaite accueillir des personnes pour de courts séjours. Je peux vous loger. En échange, je souhaite de l'aide pour la maison (ménage, rangement, petit bricolage et jardinage). Les modalités sont à discuter entre nous. Avant toute discussion, noter que :
- la maison est très ancienne et très encombrée. Les pièces ne sont pas refaites à part la cuisine.
- le village est loin de tout, à 30 mn de la ville la plus proche et à 1 h d'une grande ville (Perpignan)
- dans le village, on trouve : un camping avec un snack en été, un café, une auberge, une épicerie, une pharmacie, un médecin et des infirmières
- il y a une petite aire de jeux pour les jeunes enfants, un terrain de boules et une rivière où l'on peut se baigner mais l'eau est froide
- il y a un centre équestre où l'on peut faire des ballades à cheval (payant)
- la frontière espagnole est proche (environ 1 h 15 ) et Barcelone est à 2 h de la frontière
- l'Andorre est également à 2 h environ
- la mer est à 1 h 30 environ et la montagne également
- il y a énormément de visites à faire et beaucoup de choses à découvrir, si vous êtes prêts à utiliser votre voiture...

If you wish, you can access a large library at home. There are also materials and a room dedicated to creative hobbies. I have a project to build a cabin on land near the house. I also like to cook when I can and we could cook together. I would be delighted to discover the cuisine of other regions.
Si vous le souhaitez, vous pourrez accéder à une grande bibiothèque à la maison. Il y a également du matériel et une salle dédiée aux loisirs créatifs. J'ai un projet de construction d'une cabane sur un terrain proche de la maison. J'aime également cuisiner quand je le peux et nous pourrions cuisiner ensemble. Je serais ravie de découvrir la cuisine d'autres régions.

I have long-term covid which prevents me from doing a lot of things. So I need help with daily life, DIY and gardening. On days when I'm in good shape, we can do activities or outings together. I can help you discover the region and Spain near the border.
Je suis atteinte d'un covid long qui m’empêche de faire énormément de choses. J'ai donc besoin d'aide pour le quotidien, du bricolage et du jardinage. Les jours où je suis en forme, nous pourrons faire des activités ou des sorties ensemble. Je peux vous faire découvrir la région et l'Espagne proche de la frontière.

Accommodation
The house is big. I have several rooms with comfortable bedding, but they are not renovated. there is a bathroom and toilet on the ground floor. If you prefer, you can camp on the grounds, but you will have to bring your tent and there is no water or electricity there.
La maison est grande. Je dispose de plusieurs chambres avec de la literie confortable, mais elles ne sont pas refaites. il y a une salle de bain et des toilettes au rez-de-chaussée. Si vous le préférez, vous pourrez camper sur le terrain, mais il faudra amener votre tente et il n'y a pas d'eau ou d’électricité là-bas.
What else ...
I would like to point out that the house is a non-smoking place and that a dog is present. In the village, the only operator working perfectly is FREE, SFR can operate on the second floor of the house. There is no wifi. I can send you photos or make a video call to show you the house and talk to us before we decide.
Je tiens à préciser que la maison est un lieu non fumeur et qu'un chien est présent. Dans le village, le seul opérateur passant parfaitement est FREE, SFR peut fonctionner au deuxième étage de la maison. Il n' y a pas de wifi. Je pourrai vous envoyer des photos ou faire un appel en visio pour vous montrer la maison et nous parler avant de nous décider.
