We are a small typical Swedish campsite, family run by an English family for the last year. The site is set just outside Hammerdal in Jämtland on the edge of the wilderness with wonderful lakes and rivers to explore the local nature. We share the neighbourhood with Elk, Wolves, Bears, Beavers, Roe Deer and much more. The local fly fishing is second to none.

Learn about Swedish culture and nature, discover this beautiful area and talk to many people of different nationalities.
The site requires some light painting of cabins and verandas this year, during busy periods there may be some cleaning of cabins and service buildings required, some manning of reception, site maintainance i.e. Lawn mowing and hedge trimming strimming. We also have 2 young children that would love to do some activities with you. Art, crafts swimming, cycling, nature reserves, dog walking for the Scotties in the forest near the site. So not all work and no play.
Shared Swedish Stuga or cabin using the service building for showers and toilets. You can eat with our family or of course prepare your own food in one of our kitchens. My food is pretty good mind. I'm an ex chef from England.
Previous volunteers have enjoyed cycling in the area, fishing, swimming in the lakes or the natural pool onsite. Taking the bus to Östersund for shopping, cooking outside on open fires or in the camp tipi. Staying in a stuga on a remote island without the luxury of running water or electricity, real camping!
