    Description

David and Georgette Geraghty run a small family farm, with one 8 year old daughter Polly, where we produce Traditional Irish Horses.
Based in Tara, County Meath, close to the famous Hill of Tara in the beautiful Boyne Valley, an area rich in ancient history we have numerous attractions such as Newgrange and Lough Crew burial cairns, Trim Castle and the Battle of the Boyne site to name a few, right on our doorstep. Dublin city centre is just a 30min drive away.
Our family are looking for someone to just help around the house, garden and yard with general maintenance, there is plenty to do with the sheep, chickens, dogs etc.
You will have two consecutive days off and will have plenty of opportunity to explore the country.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are all native English speakers, This would be a unique opportunity to experience this historic part of Ireland. WE are very near some wonderful ancient monuments and historic ruins as well as some lovely lakes in the midlands, (no more than an hour from here.) Trim is our local town, where the film Braveheart was made, and has a kayaking club. You will live with us as part of the family and get to see Irish culture from that perspective. We are 20 minutes from Dublin with all that has to offer yet in the rural countryside. We have a couple of local pubs and three towns close by, we are also within reach of the Wicklow mountains, beaches and cliffs around the coast.

We are looking for someone to join us and help us with general maintenance help on the yard/land. We are a friendly team, which includes dog, sheep and chickens. Duties will be general yard duties, and some DIY projects that’s you might be interested in helping with. You would have several hours of downtime to explore the neighborhood.
