Description
We are a family of four (parents of a son age 6 and daughter age 4) who are going to our summer house in West Cork for ten days of rest, outdoor adventures, boating, exploring the coast and the islands nearby - and enjoying lots of home grown and fresh local food!
Our elegant and unique 5 bedroom house and estate is on the edge of one of Ireland's most beautiful sea loughs. Lough Hyne was the first marine nature reserve in Europe. We have our own small beach and spend our days rowing on the lough and exploring the island, swimming, climbing the nearby hills, picking our fresh fruit and vegetables in the garden, seeing friends who live nearby and having picnics in the surrounding area.Types of help and learning opportunities

The well known house and surrounding area are considered to be one of the top beauty spots in Cork. The house is extremely comfortable and as it can accommodate ten people there is plenty of room for five of us. We are surrounded by beautiful gardens including a rhododendron walk down to our beach. There is a walled garden where we grow most of our own fruit and vegetables which we love to cook with.
Our children live a very outdoor life and are warm, happy and caring children.
My husband is a photographer and I am an art curator - I speak French fluently and Italian very well.Au Pair Help

Help
We are looking for an extra pair of hands to help us around the house with some cooking, helping with the children and keeping the house tidy. My husband and I will be doing all of this as well, but as we will have just finished work on an art festival, we would appreciate the additional help while we recover! There is the possibility to add an additional week before our stay to help my brother and his family in the same way.

I would love my children (and husband!) to hear more French or Italian around the house but as they only speak English we will be mainly speaking English in the home.Accommodation
You will have a private bedroom with twin beds and your own bathroom with all linen provided. There is also the possibility of staying in our 2 bedroom guest cottage up the hill if it is not in use.
What else ...
Lough Hyne is between the village of Baltimore and Skibbereen but there is no public transport to get to us and no shops or amenities within walking distance. The attraction of the area is the peace and quiet! We will have a car and often go to the villages for meals or to shop, where you would be welcome to join us. We can collect you from the bus station in Skibbereen which has regular buses direct from Cork city.
