Our 1700ha family farm lies in the heart of the Klein Karoo and is managed by one of the sons, Toni, a recent BSc Biology graduate from Western State Colorado University, with a focus on wildlife conservation.
The farm combines elements of conservation with regenerative agricultural practices in one of the driest regions of the country. Currently our main focus is regenerating the land, to allow wildlife and birds to flourish on the land. Our neighbouring farm is a 65K ha safari destination boasting the Big 5.
As life-long bird enthusiasts and falconers, it is our dream to build up a falconry tourism project on the farm. To realise this dream, our next step is to breed indigenous birds of prey, with which we already have substantial experience.
This endeavour is still in the start-up phase, and as such presents the perfect opportunity for young people with an affinity for wildlife, nature and farming to get involved.
We currently employ one local farm worker who lives on the farm and one helper who cleans the house.
Toni, the host, lives on the farm full time. The rest of the family come and go with their main residence being 3 hours away.

Our farm offers a true opportunity to see and experience farm life in rural South Africa while at the same time only being 3 hours away from the hustle and bustle of the beautiful mother city, Cape Town, which is a melting pot of cultures from all over the world. You'll also have plenty of opportunity to experience and indulge in South African braai (barbecuing) on a regular basis.
Your daily tasks will consist of varying farm work including animal care, construction, maintenance, cleaning and other general tasks as are expected on a farm.
You'll be staying in the en-suite guest room of our modern farm house which has two single beds. Bedding and towels are provided. Volunteers have access to the kitchen, living room, terrace and outside barbecuing area. We're committed to making your stay a wonderful and memorable one! The pantry and fridge are stocked, groceries are taken care of us by us and cooking will be done together or in turns.
We will pay for groceries and cooking will be done either alternating, or together, depending on the arrangements made with workawayers.
Enjoy the beautiful landscape, go for hikes, quadbiking, explore the nearby town of Montagu, take a trip into beautiful Cape Town by local transportation.
