    Description

My husband is a freelance chef and I run a small rental property out of our guesthouse ideal for couples. Chris has lived here for 54 years and I have lived here 23 years. Candidates will not be required to manage the guesthouse in any capacity. I am solely responsible for all maintainence, cleaning and repairs. If you have an interest, my husband can do some cooking demonstrations and then partake of the meal. I cook all our meals from scratch. My garden is my joy and I would like to take it to the next level. I am seeking help with my 2 poly tunnels in which I grow all our vegetables, and garden work in general. There are 2 grapevines, and a number of soft fruit bushes, cape gooseberries, blueberries, psyllium, black currents, Chilean guava Berry's, apple trees, a herb garden, shrubs and flowers; it’s a haven. We ideally would like to house you in our detached guesthouse in exchange for garden help. In the event it is booked, we would house you in a room adjacent to the living room with privacy. This room overlooks part of the garden and 300 year old Hawthorn tree. It’s magic up here. We are an easy couple to be with and often busy with a sundry of projects during the day. We look forward to sharing a piece of our paradise and sharing meals. West Cork is a gem and there are lot’s of venues for music, hikes, walks, bicycle riding, visit an Alpaca Farm which I would ferry you to, the Famine Museum in Skibbereen, a vegan bookstore/coffee shop, restaurants and much more.

We live 15 minutes from the charming and funky village of Ballydehob. Levis Pub and Rosies often have music on weekends. There is a Wholefoods shop and one of the best cafes (BUDDS) in West Cork which serves up gorgeous breakfasts and lunches. There is also some lovely walks. My husband is a bee keeper and has six thriving hives. He would be happy to teach the art of beekeeping depending on the time of year and do some cooking demonstrations such as pasta making. We welcome folks from other cultures who want an Irish experience.

A man in an orange sweater sits at a wooden table, making eye contact with a small, fluffy gray and white dog in a cozy kitchen.
A beautiful landscape with rolling green fields under a dramatic, cloudy sky. The sun is setting, casting golden light and long shadows over the countryside.
A winding country path runs through grassy hills under a bright blue sky dotted with fluffy clouds. A blue jacket hangs on a white post.
Sunlight pours over a tranquil garden with lush greenery, a large tree with sprawling branches, stone paths, a small statue, and distant scenic countryside views.
A golden sunrise illuminates a misty mountain landscape. Silhouetted trees and rolling hills create depth, while a single dark cloud partially obscures the glowing sun.
