We live in a very rural area, in a big old farmhouse. We have 3 kids, two of whom are still living at home and are homeschooled. We have 2 dogs, 10 chickens, and 3 guinea pigs. My husband manages our dairy farm, and I homeschool the kids and enjoy gardening, reading, and knitting.
Guests can practice their English with us in a relaxed family setting, and enjoy the peaceful life in the rural countryside of northern New York. We live on a dairy farm, so you're welcome to tag along and explore a bit! We love meeting new people and sharing our home and family.
My kids are interested in learning languages other than English, especially Japanese. We'd love to host Workawayers who enjoy interacting with kids, and who can help them learn some of your language.
You will be staying in my daughter's room, while she is away at college. Meals can be pretty informal but you are welcome to eat with us and eat any food we have.
Because we live rural, there's really no public transit. We have a car and drive into town (about 25 miles away) for various activities 3 or 4 times a week. We have bicycles available.
