We are looking for hard-working, outgoing, and competent individuals. If you have been traveling for a while and wish to sink your teeth into a project or just looking to get off the beaten trail, then maybe this is the place for you.
Depending on the season, life on the mountain can get pretty tough. The accommodation is away from town, it gets pretty chilly in winter and it's not unusual to find bugs and other wildlife around the house. If you are interested in joining us, please write a message describing your skills, qualifications, and the desired arrival date. All applicants must hold a valid working visa to apply.
We will offer work with minimum Hokkaido labor law wage or more, for all hours worked in all months of the year, according to the labor law of Japan. With no deductions for accommodation. Guests are expected to cover their own food and transportation costs.

Not only will you be able to interact with the locals, practice Japanese, and eat some of the best food in Japan, but guests are contributing to the development of a new destination. Being heavily involved in the community, our guests are often invited to participate in local festivals, BBQs, and other events. The locals here are excited to have you around, so don't be surprised if they buy you a drink and invite you into their homes.

All guests are required to pitch in with basic housework. apart from general working hours. We are looking for guests who have experience living in a share house and require minimal instruction on living with others.
This summer we will need help renovating an old hot spring. We are currently cleaning out junk from the previous owner, digging irrigation ditches, preparing to paint, and cleaning. This fall, we will most likely be doing some exterior painting, sanding and staining window frames, and retiling a bathroom. Updates on winter positions to come!
No special skills are required, but guests with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or cooking skills are preferred.
During your stay, please do not hesitate to tell us about your skills and how you'd like to contribute. We appreciate those who put in the time to do a good job and your effort, or lack thereof will not go unnoticed.
If possible, please pick up an international driver's license before your visit.

A bus departs from Sapporo or Otaru station nearly every hour. I can pick you up from the Iwanai bus terminal if you provide me with an accurate arrival time.
