    Description

We are producing organic since 2013. In 100 hectares we have young forests concerced with the fruits and vegetables, but we need to make our legal reserve. We started to grow native, exotic and fruit trees over the property including our native people's knowledge. All of production are oficilally certified: manioc whole flour, fresh tapioc and "canjiquinha" corn flour.

We are located on the outskirts of the urban area of Silva Jardim in the State of Rio de Janeiro. It is a hacienda typical of the Brazilian countryside oriented to the organic production of products rooted in the country's gastronomic tradition such as yucca, potatoes, corn, beans, chili, banana, quiabo, as well as common fruits of warm lands such as avocado, eggplant , cherry tomato and pumpkin; aromatic herbs and seasonings; and a great variety of tropical fruits such as papaya, orange, lemon, pineapple, passion fruit, yellow ameixa and exclusive from the Brazilian region like the cajá.

Because of its proximity to the city of Rio de Janeiro and the positioning of Silva Jardim as a city that protects biodiversity, particularly the Mata Atlântica biome and its most emblematic inhabitant, the Leon Dorado monastery, the Dom Bosco Fazenda manages a high production and transformation of products for the urban market that offer a healthy and clean alternative for those who do not have access to rural life. To achieve this, it has a work team composed mainly of women from the region, who lead, manage and care for the varied production of the hacienda, rendering machista ideas that discredit the value of women's work in the countryside meaningless.

The hacienda is, in addition, a rustic space with forest, great vegetation and fauna that allows the rest and a real interaction with the daily life of the Brazilian rurality.
