Description
We are a happy family of 4 (originally from Germany) and 1 dog.... who emigrated to Valbonne in southern France 1.5 years ago. We would like to give something back from our good fortune to be able to wake up here every day and enable others to spend time here. Our garden is very large, about 6000qm, needs a lot of care and we can always use a helping hand.
We live on approximately 6000qm in a renovated old Provencal house. Then there is the summer house with a tower room for guests and a large pool. As well as a separate guest house. In our garden we have around 25 olive trees, some deciduous trees and lots of lawn :)
We live in Valbonne and the center is about 15 minutes walk. Mougins (where Picasso lived) about 8 minutes by car and Cannes about 25 minutes by car. Within walking distance we have a large forest with a river that is ideal for hiking or biking.
The nice thing about the Cote a'Azur is that you can hike in the mountains in the morning and relax on the beach in the afternoon :) Which we do often :)
We are very looking forward to welcoming you in our family. Please don´t hesitate to reach out with any questions. Talk to you soon!Types of help and learning opportunities
GardeningCultural exchange and learning opportunities
A variety of cultural, artistic and sporting events are organized on the Côte d'Azur all year round, from Cannes to Nice, from the Croisette to the Promenade des Anglais. The coast also offers beautiful landscapes, picturesque villages and palm trees that invite you to take a break in the shade. Not to forget: the very special blue, as far as the eye can see, which inspired the painters Matisse and Chagall.

• Nice
Nissa La Bella, the capital of the French Riviera, is diverse. It is at the same time baroque, Belle Époque and very contemporary. The famous Promenade des Anglais invites you to take a walk along the Bay of Angels.
• Cannes
As the venue for the international film festival in May, Cannes plays a very special role. At the foot of the Suquet Oppidum, overlooking the sea and the Lérins Islands, Cannes extends over two kilometers of fine sandy beaches along the beautiful Croisette.
• Saint Paul de Vence
Located in the hinterland of Nice, this medieval village is particularly popular with art lovers. Lined with picture galleries in its narrow streets, at the Maeght Foundation you can admire nature-themed works by Giacometti, Calder, Braque, Matisse, Léger, etc. The chapel “Chapelle des Pénitents” designed by Folon is also a great excursion destination.
• Port Grimaud
It is called the Venice of Provence because its shape as a seaside town, lined with small houses and moored boats, is reminiscent of the famous Italian city.
• The Marc Chagall Museum in Nice
Housed in a simple building surrounded by a Mediterranean garden, the museum displays more than 250 colorful works by Chagall, the first of which dates from 1903.
• Saint Tropez
Made famous by a number of artists (the painter Signac, the writer Françoise Sagan, the actress Brigitte Bardot, the actor Louis de Funès and many others), Saint-Tropez has retained its Provençal charm, nestled in a gulf with crystal-clear waters.
• Grasse and its perfume museum
The area around Grasse exudes scents of lavender, mimosa, orange trees, jasmine and roses. The Museum of the Perfume Capital traces the history of fragrances since ancient times and the know-how of perfumery artisans.
• Antibes and Juan les Pins
Antibes is celebrated by painters, particularly Picasso. Here you should definitely explore the old harbor, the luxurious ships and the city walls. In Juan-les-Pins you'll love the Art Deco-style buildings, beautiful beaches and the international jazz festival.A little more information
