    Description

    It is a youth-led community organization In Mbita, Homabay Kenya. The organization is structured as (CEO, Co-directors, Community Volunteers) Joseph (CEO), Cynthia and Beryl (Co-directors) of the organization, and volunteers in the management.

    For the purposes of this host platform, Beryl (organization co-director) will be managing the platform and will welcome volunteers to our organization and organic farms in the rural village. However, when the volunteers get to the organization and community they will be supported by the whole team to maximize volunteer community engagements and learning. We work too with our project beneficiaries, these are girls and youths who have been empowered by the organization and are giving back to the community.

    Join Our Youth-Led Organization for an Adventure-Packed and unforgettable experience where you can bask in the cool breeze of Lake Victoria, witness the breathtaking sunset and lake view from the tops of the hills, and immerse yourself in the local community while interacting with girls, youths and family beneficiaries. Explore Ruma National Park, home to the African roan antelope, and be amazed by its natural beauty. Plus, our volunteers will get a chance to engage in our projects (organic farm, women empowerment, health talk sessions, and school feeding program). Get also to learn how we use the power of insects to upcycle organic waste and produce protein to feed chickens, fish, pig,s and other animals.

    We welcome travelers here even without prior experience in organic farming or charity tasks. The main aim here is to learn and interact with the community and use tourism as an avenue for creating sustainable community impact. As a community organization, we need volunteers to join our founder board of management, student volunteer support, and Fundraising to establish sustainable projects to support and sustain our community-led change.
    Before the visit, we request volunteers to fundraise/resource mobilize to our charity work.
    Donate any resource to the organization's key sustainable projects (beekeeping, Campsite, community resource center, and clinic) to promote sustainable community tourism.

    We will provide rural homestays in our family home with traditional rooms with electricity, clean bedding, and water. During the stay we will provide bedrooms with pit latrines and bathrooms outside the rooms, and laundry services, cleaning, and sanitation will be provided to the volunteers freely. We will provide free main meals to our volunteers (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).

    Our family and the organization values partnerships and collaborations and most of all welcoming visitors into our midst. We provide local experience and culture exchange to enable our esteemed visitors enjoy our culture "the Luo culture", local African foods and the lakeregion environment. In your stay with us you'll get to freely interact with the family to make you feel like you are home and engage. We'll also engage you in community charity tasks for impact. You going to experience local transportation and hikes, visiting vulnerable families and having stories to enjoy the real African culture.
