  Description

  The right to education is one of the major human rights. However, schools are not available for everyone especially in the rural areas of India. We want to change that.
  
  Our organisation is located in Mastipur, Bodhgaya. In this area, 90 percent of the families live below the poverty line. Most of the people here belong to the lowest casts and are uneducated and unprivileged. In our school, we try to tackle those issues by providing education to more than 100 children. We believe that education is the key for a better living situation for future generations.
  
  We are not only providing formal education, children also get one healthy meal a day and can join sports or meditation programs.
  
  We are not only working with kids. We also run a women empowerment program, which provide women with computer courses.
  
  We need help and support from volunteers to move on together in happiness for children and ourselves.
  
  Gaya District - lies within the state of Bihar with a total population of about 500000 people. At present Gaya is the only cosmopolitan city in the state of Bihar and it occupies a position of great importance not only within Bihar but also to the adjoining states. The city is connected with the main railway head and national High way runs through the city. The only Airport is situated in Gaya.
  
  Besides the various companies which operate from the city makes the cosmopolitan city susceptible to various health hazards like heavy pollution explosion, environmental pollution and anti-social activities and exploitation of marginal class society by the upper strata of the society.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  It is often the little ones that can teach you most. We are sure that the work with our children will change your view of life. You can learn basic Hindi skills, take part in our meditation classes and get an insight in rural life in India.
  Anil and Vicky, our Indian volunteers will show you the area and bring you to nice places. Bodhgaya is famous for being the place where Buddha got enlightened. As such, there is a lot of Buddhist culture in the town.

  Help

  If you come to help us, you can choose between many different tasks. You can help directly with the kids and teach classes or help them to enjoy their time in school with games, activities. May it be an environmental awareness program, a creative art class or an exciting football game, you have the chance to bring all your skills here. We also need a lot of help with fundraising and are always thankful for new ideas on that. If you are good with computers, your help with our homepage and social media presence would be very much appreciated. Our women empowerment program also always needs some strong female voices and creativity.

  Accommodation

  Depending on the number of volunteers, you will have your own or a shared room in our family house. Bathroom and kitchen are also shared.
  
  For food, you can cook by yourself or with other volunteers. And we can provide 3 meals a dayily. And also There are also many delicious and affordable vegetarian restaurants nearby.
  
  We can also provide you with a bicycle to go around. In the moment there is no Wi-Fi at our place but soon there will be. Me and my family will try to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
  
  We don't want to charge you for your time with us, but we ask you to help us with fundraising and collecting donations from your friends and family if you can.

  What else ...

  You would live and help at Bodhgaya. The place where the Buddha got enlightenment. The city is a famous pilgrimage site and has thousands of visitors every year. The Mahabodhi temple is a beautiful UNESCO world heritage site and should not be missed by any traveler in North India (Bihar).
  
  If you are interested is Buddhism and Meditation you should definitely visit Bodhgaya with its temples from all around the world, like Thailand, China, Japan, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Tibet. Here you can also find many meditation centers and a vipassana center.
  
  Trains are running regularly to Gaya, Railway Station. Gaya is the next bigger city about 10 kilometers away. From there we will pick you up to come to Bodhgaya.
  
  Gaya is not far from Varanasi, Khajuraho, and Calcutta.
