Description
We are Erik and Mieke, 61 and 59 years old. We own a lovely place in Northern Italy in Piemonte, in a beautiful green valley (hence the name). We live partially in the Netherlands and in Piemonte. Five years ago, we bought this wonderful place and have been gradually transforming it into an ecologically managed property. We have many fruit trees (apple, pear, cherry, plum, medlar, fig, persimmon, quince) and nut trees. Our main challenge is improving the soil and finding a balance between letting nature take its course (with all the flora it brings) and keeping it under control so we can enjoy it. We have a sweet dog named Momo who guards the place well with her barking, and we are surrounded by deer, foxes, wild boars, hares, badgers, etc.
Part of the property is fairly developed (orchard, garden) and primarily requires a lot of maintenance in mowing, pruning, and some weeding. Additionally, we process the pruned wood into mulch and create a brushwood fence. The fruit trees need attention during harvest and pruning. Furthermore, we want to gradually explore how to make the rest of the property accessible, and creating an ecological pond is on our to-do list. The daily schedule is dictated by the weather and outdoor temperature. When it's hot, we work in the morning and early evening; when it's cooler, we work during the warmer parts of the day.
We have a separate apartment attached to our house for the WWOOFers, with a kitchen, living room, bathroom, and two bedrooms. We eat vegetarian.
Erik enjoys playing guitar and piano and loves making music together. Mieke's garden is her hobby, and we both enjoy the cozy Italian lifestyle. There are many activities in the area. From the house, you can enjoy wonderful walks. We have a set-up swimming pool (7x4 meters) where you can cool off when it's warm and a big pizza oven.Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
We have a large property of about 1.5 hectares that we maintain through pruning, mowing, and gardening. Part of it still needs to be developed. In the summer, there is a lot of fruit to pick and process. We garden on an ecological basis. In and around the house, there are various tasks, mainly painting.
