Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Living with us means becoming part of a Pakistani Muslim household in the heart of Punjab. You'll share meals, conversations, and daily routines with the family, and experience the warmth, humour, and hospitality that Punjabi culture is known for.
We can share our language (Urdu and Punjabi), local traditions, and a way of life shaped by strong family values and a living spiritual heritage. As a family, our home carries centuries of that tradition lightly and openly. We welcome all, and are open to genuine conversation about faith, meaning, and life.
You'll also have the chance to explore the wider region, including the ancient ruins of Taxila, the rich history of Gandhara, local villages, and nearby cultural sites, while experiencing the natural rhythm of life here. There are more stories in this land than we can count.
We hope to learn from you as well: your skills, your culture, and your perspective. This is a mutual exchange of ideas, stories, and ways of living, built on respect and curiosity

Help
We are looking for kind, proactive people who are happy to contribute to a growing community and educational space. The type of help can vary depending on your skills and interests.
You may support with teaching basic English or other subjects, helping organise simple learning activities, assisting with light building or maintenance tasks, or contributing to creative projects like social media, photography, or documentation. If you have experience in design, education, or community work, that is especially valuable.
Most of the time, we will be working together, sharing skills and learning from one another. This is not just about work, but about cultural exchange, meaningful conversation, and building something with purpose. We also hope you’ll pick up some Urdu along the way. :)

We’re very open to language exchange and would love to learn from you as well. While we can help you pick up Urdu and Punjabi through daily conversation, we’re also interested in improving our English and learning other languages from our guests. Language learning here is natural and informal, through shared meals, conversations, and daily life rather than structured lessons. It’s a relaxed, mutual exchange where everyone learns from each other.
Accommodation
We offer a clean, safe, and comfortable place to stay within our family home. You will have your own sleeping space (shared or private depending on availability), with basic furnishings and bedding provided.
All meals are included, and you’ll eat with the family, experiencing traditional Pakistani and Punjabi home-cooked food. We can accommodate basic dietary needs if discussed in advance.
Our home is simple but welcoming, with a strong focus on hospitality, respect, and making sure you feel comfortable during your stay.
What else ...
In your free time, you can explore the local area, visit nearby towns and villages, or simply relax and enjoy the slower pace of life here. Islamabad is around an hour away and worth a visit. Wah Cantt, a nearby military town with modern infrastructure and amenities, is easily accessible. Our local village is about a 15 minute walk.
The wider region is extraordinarily rich in history and spiritual heritage. Taxila Museum, one of the great archaeological collections of the ancient world, is about half an hour away by car. Punja Sahib, one of the most sacred Sikh shrines in the world, is just 20 minutes away. The area of Punjab we are in is woven through with shrines, saints, and spiritual stories that go back centuries, and we are happy to share them with you and help you find them.
We can also help arrange visits to historical sites across the wider region, including the ruins of ancient Gandhara.
Life in our home is simple, respectful, and family-oriented. We ask guests to be mindful of local customs, dress modestly, and respect the cultural and religious environment of the household. Alcohol and drugs are not permitted in the home.
Transport locally is easy by rickshaw or car, and we are happy to guide you on getting around. This is a calm and welcoming environment, best suited to people who are open-minded, respectful, and genuinely curious about a different way of life.

Limited internet access

Can host families

Can host digital nomads
We’re open to hosting digital nomads, as long as there is a good balance between work and helping out. Internet is generally reliable for everyday use, and mobile data is widely available and affordable (many people use large data packages), so staying connected is usually not an issue. However, occasional load shedding (power cuts) can happen, so some flexibility is helpful.

Space for parking camper vans
We can accommodate one camper or motorhome within our compound, as space allows. Please let us know in advance so we can confirm arrangements.

Can possibly accept pets
We can accept pets on a case-by-case basis, depending on size, temperament, and how well they adapt to a family environment. Please discuss this with us beforehand.
