    Description

We live in paradise. Here there is no agricultural or industrial pollution. From our house you cannot see even our nearest neighbour, 300 metres away. We have a main mud-brick house, and two timber studio buildings 25 metres and 80 metres from the main house.
I am a classical musician, and have a beautiful piano here. Lyn is a photographer, yoga instructor, Non-violent communication specialist, theatre tragic, and describes her special skill as "social translating".

My two younger children, 15 and 12, live here on alternate weeks, the other weeks with their mother in Lismore. I won't boast about them...

Our property is teeming with native wildlife. Kangaroos, goannas, the occasional echindna, birds of all kinds except seabirds (we are an hour from the sea) even snakes if you are lucky...You will learn about Australia's wildness here. What we hope to learn from you are how you do things in your country, from domestic tasks to world view. And we love to hear stories.

We live on 5 acres of mostly cleared land. It has all sorts of vegetation, wanted and unwanted. Basic weeding and pruning, planting vegetables, hedge-clipping, etc needs doing just about all the time. Branches fall down in big storms, and they need to be cleared. We have brush-cutters and a ride-on mower.

We have a well-equipped shed, and we welcome help repairing or servicing our machine tools, but that is not essential - don't worry of that is not your skill! On the other hand, if you love cooking, you will be more than welcome. We are foodies...

You will have your own large bedroom, whether you come single or as a couple. The property is spacious, with three buildings - the main house has the bathroom, plus there is a composting toilet. We expect to eat together, so as to share as much as possible our experiences and stories. Mostly we will cook, but sometimes, if it is your skill, you will cook. We have a house rule - if you cook, you don't clear up, and vice cversa.

    What else ...

We are half an hour away from the nearest town, Lismore or Nimbin, and 20 minutes from the local shop. The area is hobby farmers, tradies, retirees, academics...lots different kinds of people want to live in our paradise region. Best if you have a car, if you want to explore the region while you are here. But we have had many happy carless workers here.
