We live on a goat farm, what’s more fun than that? We once saw a goat faint because another goat sneezed. Although our goats don't wear pajamas or practice yoga, we have a lot of fun with them. With that fun comes a lot of care-taking and projects, and that's why we need you!

We raise American Cashmere goats (making those incredibly soft scarves and sweaters). We have over 100 goats and can tell you all of their names. We also use our goats to restore land to native ecosystems by eradicating invasive plant species.

We are a married couple that had no idea we would become farmers. We spent years volunteering on farms, traveling Europe, and taking farming courses before we bought the farm. If you look at a map, our farm seems far from anything. But we promise you will not feel isolated here. Many people come here, and there are many opportunities to go to the nearest town or the big cities.

As former volunteers, we know the importance of connecting with new people and not just your hosts! We know that good memories are just as important as new skills. We live in Wisconsin but we have traveled to many countries. You are welcome here!

Every day is different here. This is not a farm where volunteers only do the same chores day after day. We are always working on a project to improve the farm. Depending on the time of year during your stay you may be: collecting cashmere, trimming hooves, knitting, sewing, small carpentry projects, planting vegetables, building animal structures, mowing the lawn, making soup, baking bread, cuddling baby goats, moving goats to new pasture, painting, adjusting solar panels, and tons more.

  • Accommodation

Our volunteers live in an eco-friendly cabin that was hand built by the original owners. It features a wood stove, a bookcase full of games, and a kitchenette so that you can make a snack whenever you'd like. We also have a collection of sustainable living and how-to books that you can read in your spare time. The likelihood of you being the only volunteer staying with us is low, and so be prepared to make some new friends and memories!

Volunteers are free to come to the main house to raid the refrigerator, hang out, or pet the cat. We also have a sauna that can be used any time.
