Jo and David were a lovely couple and awesome people! We hit it off the moment they arrived. They were friendly, personable, easy going, with lots of rich stories to share and of course were very willing to take on any odd projects we threw their way. They are also eager to tell you all about Louisiana's rich culture and history. On time off we visited Lafayette, Avery Island and Bayou Teche Brewery (where we got invited to a private party at a plantation home by an eligible Cajun bachelor!). I enjoyed meeting some of their friends in the area as well as in New Orleans, all kind and warm people. The guest room is very comfortable and clean with much attention to detail. Review Quinten
It was a pleasure having Quinten stay with us as a workaway. We loved his enthusiasm always willing to engage in each project and learn new skills when needed. He is easy going and hard working both. We are so grateful for all that he did and highly recommend him to any hosts in the future. We enjoyed preparing and sharing meals and visiting and cultural exchanges throughout the visit. It was my first workaway and it was awesome! I stayed for two weeks with Linni and Trent and loved every minute of my stay. They are wonderful, easygoing, loving, and communicative people. Their garden is a place of haven nestled on the edge of the bayou Teche with a lot of flowers and trees, including oaks and cypress trees. It was very nice to work in the garden with Trent; I enjoyed so much my time there looking at the birds and squirrels in the garden while I was working. I cleaned the windows inside and outside and the B&B before welcoming guests and polishing the bronze. Because Linni and Trent are vegetarian, there were always vegetables, eggs, and cheese to eat. Their favorite food is Mexican type; one evening Linni cooked tortillas and we prepared them with the tortillas machine at the table. It can't be better! It was delicious and very funny. My stay was a balance between working hard every morning and relaxing with Linni and Trent. They never got tired of showing me around and sometime way far from their home as Avery Island, neither nor to introducing me to their friends and neighbors, or going to eat or drink at some lovely places. Every evening we did something together as playing board games, speaking or listening to Trent playing gongs. It’s amazing!
