What else ...
Family days, city days, skiing sessions, mountain hikes, museums galore... there's loads to do around this part of cultural Lower Silesia.
Among the many recommended options is some high-up sightseeing via the chair cableway to Mala Kopa, swinging around 535 metres up for a length of over two kilometres. You could also zip down the Kolorowa summer toboggan run, or hike 1,602 metres above sea level up to the peak of Śnieżka, the highest in the Karkonosze.
Nearby Karpacz, about five minutes' drive away, has an acclaimed toy museum with exhibits dating back 200 years, along with fire engines and Lego, dolls from around the world, and regular workshops and events. The Orline ski jumping hill is just outside town.
History buffs can have treks around Chojnik and Bolków castles, 20 and 45 minutes' drive away; the Palace of Wojanów within 20 minutes, and the Miłków Palace and its 200 year old park, five minutes' drive away at Spiż. For loads more old buildings, a lively vibe and the UNESCO site of Centennial Hall, regional capital Wroclaw is just under two hours' drive away.A little more information
