  • Description

    Description

Our Ranch is a 300 acre operation located on the banks of the Pelly River. The Farm is 30 miles from the nearest community and 200 miles from the nearest city centre of Whitehorse, Yukon and 100% off grid, run by solar energy in the main house - so power conservation is a must. We are a family owned farm since 1954, currently operated by Dale and Sue, producing as mainstay all natural beef. We are a self sustained operation growing and feeding only our own feed. We also produce a small market garden and potatoes.

  • Help

    Help

We're looking for help during the summer for lots of different jobs like fencing, planting crop, gardening, animal care and harvesting. Building skills are more than welcome since there's always something to fix or construct. During harvesting time you might get the chance to run all kinds of farming equipment. The hours of help per day always depend on the season and the projects that we work on. In exchange for your help we provide accommodation and all meals. We also like to make sure that you got some time off to explore this wonderful part of the country.

    Accommodation

Our volunteers are staying with the family in the main house or in another cabin. Rooms might need to be shared with other volunteers, depending on availability. There's lots of space for camping, too.

In your time off you can go hiking and explore the backcountry. We provide kayaks and a canoe for those who wanna paddle the Pelly River. There's also the chance to go on some boat or skidoo rides with Dale. The heritage site Fort Selkirk is very close by and can be visited in the summer as well as in the winter.
