Description
YEAR-END 2025 UPDATE:
Hello everyone!
This is an update to let you know about some changes at the lodge.
--> looking for 2/3 months volunteers starting end of December/beginning of January <--
We (Francesca & Davide) have been managing the lodge for the past months, but we will soon be leaving. From now on, the lodge will continue to run with only the local team on-site: a small, warm, and hard-working group that keeps daily operations running smoothly.
Because of this transition, we are now looking for long-term volunteers who can support the lodge with tasks that require continuity and a stable presence.
The local team cannot accommodate short-term stays, but they can easily support volunteers who stay long enough to understand the rhythm of the place.
What We Are Looking For
We need one or two volunteers who can help primarily with:
- Communication with guests before arrival and during their stay
- Check-in and check-out with occasional late check-ins
- Keeping things coordinated and supporting the local team with daily tasks so nothing falls through the cracks
- Experience in communication, marketing, or social media is a great plus, but not a strict requirement.
About the Lodge
The lodge operates smoothly thanks to the coordination of the owners (who assist remotely) and the on-site support of three local team members: two handymen and a housekeeper. They handle operations well, but having a long-term volunteer greatly improves consistency and guest experience.
Important Info
- It is mandatory to be able to speak Spanish to communicate with the team and English to communicate with guests.
- The lodge is remote, so it's essential to have a driving license to get around as the local transport does not get directly to the lodge. We provide for the use of a motorbike with gears if you are comfortable with it! If not, we think it's necessary renting a scooter
- We are no longer able to accept short-term volunteers or candidates looking for a 1–2 week stay.
To ensure a good experience for both sides, we now accept only long-term commitments.
If you’re looking for an immersive experience in a peaceful natural environment, and you’re ready to become part of our little community for a while, we’d love to hear from you!

SEP2025 UPDATE:
Hello everyone, we are Francesca & Davide, currently managing the lodge.
We first arrived here as volunteers and, after falling in love with the place, we’ve been asked to help with management until one of the owners can come back on-site.
Besides the daily tasks, we are focusing on developing marketing and communication strategies, especially through social media and partnerships with retreat organizers.
The lodge is running smoothly thanks to the remote support of the four owners and the on-site help of two handymen and a housekeeper.
We’re mostly looking for creative minds who can support us with brainstorming and content creation or small aesthetic projects to make the lodge more beautiful (gardening, woodworking, etc.) for one/two weeks staying.
---------------------------
Hi! We are the owners of a lodge/farm/finca in the middle of the Nicaraguan jungle that's also close to the beach - about 20 20-minute drive south of San Juan Del Sur. I'm the main owner on-site at the moment, and I'm American, but have lived in East Africa and Asia while visiting over 50 countries already. I'm a surfer and love living in Nicaragua while getting my place up to speed in terms of making it look nice and welcoming for others. We are surrounded by beautiful trees and plants, we have our own small permaculture garden, we have a nice little community, and there are incredible beaches nearby.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
If you are looking to practice your Spanish and/or learn more about Nicaraguan culture and life, this is your opportunity! We have two wonderful caretakers/landscapers/guards that work with us and are happy to also chat and welcome you to the country. We also live mins away from a couple beaches that uncrowded and have great surf.

Help
Main tasks:
- Communication with guests before arrival and during their stay
- Check-in and check-out with occasional late check-ins
- Keeping things coordinated and supporting the local team with daily tasks so nothing falls through the cracks
- Experience in communication, marketing, or social media is a great plus, but not a strict requirement. If you are into communications, social media and content creation we would love to have some help on that side to feed our Instagram Page ;)
4 hours x 5 days- food provided
3 hours x 5 days- no food
The help we require is approximately 4 hours x 5 days but keep in mind that the schedule is different every day: there could be days without guests when you have to coordinate with the team in the morning for maintenance concerns and days where you would be free but with check ins in the middle of the afternoon or evening.

Accommodation
You will have a private room slightly detached from the main lodge (near the handymen’s “bodega”).
The room is simple but functional and surrounded by nature.
The shared bathroom is just a few meters away, inside the main lodge building.
We have a shared and equipped kitchen where you can cook your meals.
What else ...
With any of your time off, you can go surf, hike, horseback ride, relax/read/stretch/practice yoga/workout in the common areas upstairs with an incredible view, practice your Spanish, make little projects, the world is your oyster! You will need a moto or vehicle to get around outside of the lodge.

My time in the eco-lodge has been an anti-stress week. One week there and I'm pretty sure I am more relaxed than the guest.
The jungle, chill, relax environment has a lot to do with it AND Nick is absolutely the most easy going guy.
He told me the priorities of help and we… read more
