  • Description

I was a work-awayer traveling the world for 3 years. I came to this Tree Lodge in 2018 and worked for a month, and fell in love. I came back at the beginning of 2020 to work again, and now a year later - I bought it!

I would love to keep the theme of community & work-awayers thriving here.

I'll be doing some fun renovation projects in June and would love some help if anyone is around and would like to join! There wont be any guests on site, so you'll have a guest room to yourself and we'll be working on fun creative projects to transform the space into a perfect jungle yoga retreat & surf camp!

We have full-time staff of local Panamanians that do house-keeping & cooking, as well as our contractor and day laborers.

This is OUR space to create magic, build community, and give life to a space where people will come to disconnect from their "busy" lives & reconnect with nature.

You will learn about life in the carribean, sustainable building in the jungle, opportunities to practice spanish with our staff, and more.

Bocas is also so beautiful. And, unlike a lot of work aways I've done - we're not super remote & you can get around the island easily (lots to explore on foot nearby, bikes are great, and a taxi to town is $3).

  • Help

We can really do anything & everything we want to transform this (already incredibly special) space.

    Projects could include:
    - painting
    - decking
    - building furniture
    - dreaming & scheming fun new ideas!
    - documenting the process!
    - gardening (edible & landscape - we have so many plants to work with!)
    - recycling projects? bring your ideas!
    - art projects? signs ... a fun entry way ... whatever you think!
    - lighting ?

If you want to host a workshop here, teach morning yoga, etc. The space is yours to create!

The lodge will be operating for july/ august, and then again in Sept/ Oct we will close to the public for MAGIC TIME - breathing new life into the space and transforming it into whatever we want!

  • Accommodation

Guest room! Your own! THE DREAM.

I've been a work-awayer for a long time, so I know the value of having your own space ;)

    - There is wifi in the main lodge, probably not in your room.
    - Hot Showers! (But we run on rain water, so they are *short & sweet* hot showers! With monkey views, of course.

We will do meals together, family style. Depending on who is around, we can trade off who is in charge of which meals (but really, it just depends on prefrences! Maybe we do breakfast on our own, lunch together, leftovers for dinner ... whatever the flow is). Food provided.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

The Tree Lodge is an amazing location here on the main island in Bocas Del Toro. Walking distance is several beach bars & restaurants, $3 cab ride to town (or 30min bike ride), and other islands are a $1-$3 water taxi ride away.

Bocas is MAGIC. I promise :)

Si! I also was a digital nomad when I volunteered here. We can just talk more about schedules and making sure you have enough time to be present in the projects & be part of the community :) We can work it out.

I used to live in a camper van - would love to! I have a good spot for one camper van (the place where one day I will build my own home! It's pretty great).
