    Description

Hola! We are a bilingual family of three-soon to be four-living in Lo De Marcos, Nayarit Mexico. The newest member of our family is due to arrive in early June.

As a family, we are screen free. For us this means that our children never look at screens and we are conscious of our screen use around them. We love to go to the beach, arroyos during the rainy season, surf, play at the park, and enjoy the culture/food/environment that Mexico offers.

Lo De Marcos is a small fishing town with a growing international and tourist presence. The beach is beautiful with lovely snorkeling during the summer time. Summers in Mexico are most memorable for the storms, humidity, and vibrant jungle that the rainy season brings. Lightning storms and heavy rain falls usually happen at night time with days ranging from hot and sunny to cloudy and cool. During this time dry river beds turn into beautiful running rivers and the jungle becomes so lush you can almost watch it grow.

As I mentioned above, we are a bilingual/multicultural family. My husband is from Guadalajara, Jalisco and I am from Oregon, USA. Our primary household language is Spanish and we are all fluent in English. If you would like to study, learn, or improve your Spanish this could be an ideal setting!

We are a very active family. We love to surf and enjoy nature. If you are interested in exploring Mexican beaches, surfing, and rivers you’ll definitely get a taste of the Mexican beach lifestyle hanging out with us! That being said, we live a slow paced life style with walks to the beach. We also have a terreno- land- that is undeveloped and quite wild. We have some trees planted there and enjoying spending afternoons there as well.

  • Help

    Help

I am looking for a mother’s helper. Someone who can spend a few hours a day with us as a set of extra hands. The help could range from playing with Leilani, cooking some food, light tidying up around the house, or maybe accompanying us on a family outing as an extra set of hands. It is important that the person is easy to be around, respectful of our family values (no screens, sugar, or sweetened foods), and has the ability to see where they can be helpful with minimal instruction.

    What else ...

During time off the most notable activity is going to the beach. There are two beautiful beaches in Lo De Marcos and more in the area. You can swim, fish, snorkel, and spear fish right off the beach in Lo De Marcos.

Surrounding towns are San Pancho Nayarit, which has a popular summertime beach break- not usually for beginner surfers and Sayulita a busy beach, surf, tourist town.
