Description
In the remote beach of Arequipa region, where many coves or small bays are, is set this eco-lodge and scallops marine farm, in front of one of the most beautiful beaches of Peru, on an alien landscape of desertic coastline. A few years ago was only reachable navigating 20km, now a new highway is near and we have dirt road access. It is home to many marine life, where the locals are the Humboldt penguins, sea otters, and many sea lions and sea birds. We are a family-run project that aims to protect this area of urban development and overexploitation of marine resources, being guardians of this place for the past 20 years.
You must speak Spanish at least at the intermediate level, be over 23 years old, and have time for 4 weeks with us as volunteers.Types of help and learning opportunities

According to the needs of the lodge & marine farm, tasks might vary. The primary duty is to help our workers with tasks that do not require training. Each morning will be assigned an area of help and a worker to help for the day. It is crucial that volunteers maintain flexibility as our needs change.
All volunteers may be asked to do general tasks in the following areas:
General maintenance and coastline keeping: This can include taking care of the gardens, cleaning the beach area, cleaning the paths around the property, painting and decorating jobs, cleaning the reception area, cleaning the bar and restaurant area windows, cleaning the boat and sea equipment, and more.
Housekeeping: Helping our housekeeping staff includes cleaning the rooms where guests stay, washing the walls, furniture, and mattresses, cleaning bathrooms, changing sheets.
Kitchen: Washing dishes, taking care of food compost, cleaning the kitchen.
Scallops marine farm: Help with the movement and sortment of the seashells and cleaning the farming system.Languages

There are different remote and desolate coves with beaches within walking distance, transport is not easy to take, so you might end up exploring a lot walking (bring sneakers), this area is remote and barely deeply explored. Inside the property there is a 400 hundred year old anchor of whom nobody knows anything at all, it might be pin marking something.
5km navigating south, is the location of a national park, where sea lions, penguins, and thousand of sea birds live. A tour of this place will be provided as a treat when we get free spaces on the boat if you stay 4 weeks or more with us.A little more information
