Description
My name is Sarah and I have a 9 acre property on the outskirts of Benalla.
I am on my self sufficient journey so am working through an incredibly long list of varied projects as well as the usual upkeep jobs.Types of help and learning opportunities

Some of the benefits will be;
To be included into my little family (Just me and my fur babies), to learn about self sufficiency and the skills that I have learnt along my journey, these include growing food, bee keeping and Chicken hatching. I live in a beautiful place and would be happy to show you around the area including my favourite local Aussie pub as well as many others incredible places. Meals can be prepared and eaten together while sharing stories and experiences. I would hope to learn many different skills from Workawayers either farming skills, trades skills or even digital skills.
The town of Benalla is the gateway to the high country and regional street art capital of Australia.
It's perfect for those that enjoy the outdoors. The best way to get to Benalla is via the V-line train. $8 from Melbourne approx journey of 2.5hours. Use of a car is available while you are here to get around the local areas as long as you satisfy the licence requirements.
Some things to do in your free time could include.
Paddleboarding on the local lake, the lake walk, local markets, fishing in many of the rivers or even Lake nillahcootie, hiking up mount Glenrowan, wineries, Mount Buller, mountain biking, Silo Art tour and so many more things.Help
I purchased the property in April of 2022 since then I have been working on creating my dream property.
The property is approximately 5min drive from town of Benalla via the tree lined driveway.
Some daily tasks may include;
*Tending to the veggie patch
*Feeding Chickens
*Watering and gardening
*Collecting firewood
*Preserving food
*Whipper snipping
*Tending to the flower farm area
*Odd jobs around the property depending on months of the year
Some of my larger projects are
*Turning a horse float into a flower stall
*Building a chicken caravan
*Fencing
*Building Sheep yards
*Finishing the "Wilde Eve Bar" Pool table already acquired.
*Hatching Chickens and Ducks
*Expanding the veggie patch
*Settings up irrigation and watering systems
*Creating garden space
*Painting the house
*Re-paving the outdoor area
*Settings up a caravan or two on the property for future workaway/WWOFFers
As well as many others.Languages spoken

Accommodation
I can offer home style accommodation in my home (until the caravan project is completed). I can host couples or singles. I would prefer a stay of at least 2 weeks.
My aim is to work with people's skills so depending on your experience or interests we can look at what projects may be able to be tackled during your stay.
Healthy meals provided or happy to cook together. Full use of the kitchen and access to produce from the veggie patch always welcome to be used. The usual laundry and bathroom facilities available for use as well as a hang out area away from the house for music, pool and games.A little more information

Whilst I was there I learnt all sorts about her plans to become more self sufficient and was inspired by how much she has transformed her farm. Sarah also took me on a wonderful tour of the Silo art, with a secret mural as well.
I was there during the colder months. So the flower farm… read more
