    Description

We are looking for passionate people that enjoy being in the outdoors to help us with our small natural park project.
The park is close to Pucon (8 km), has a 90 m waterfall and very beautiful old-growth forest.
We would like you to recieve the tourists who are visiting to see the waterfall (depending on the season) and otherwise help keep the place, feeding the animals, maintaining the trails, tending the guarden and keeping things nice.

We aim to have a team of 2-4 workawayers who can share the duties of the place and help each other out, as we ourselves do not live on the property but only visit from time to time.
This beautiful place is owned by Marcela (Mother), Elisa and Katha (daughters) who all live at their own places in the nearby town of Villarica.

We would prefer if you are willing to stay for at least 3 weeks so you have plenty of time to get into the routines, finish some projects and explore the area :)

You will be staying in one of the most beautiful places in Chile, a hotspot for outdoor tourism. You will be able to interact with the tourists, the locals and us (the family) from time to time.

  • Help

    Help

We need help with daily tasks such as feeding the animals (cats, dogs and horses), keeping the place tidy and helping tourists when necessary.

At the moment the workawayers will be staying at the park by themselves, running the "portal house" to the waterfall. At our place we have a short trail (15 minutes hiking) leading to the nearby Salto del Claro (90m waterfall). During the summer, tourists pay to pass by and we need the workawayers to take care of the bookings, recieve payments and serve light refreshments when needed. The amount of people passing by is heavily affected by the tourist season (january and february can be quite busy as that is the school holidays in Chile). We expect the workawayers to work 5 hours a day, 5 days a week. When managing the tourists, the 5 hours will be spread out through out the day as no one is visiting most of the time and you'll most likely have plenty of free time to relax. The opening hours during summer is 9-18. When not managing the guests, you are welcome to manage your own work/free time.

    Accommodation

You will be staying in a simple but cozy cabin for workawayers with two bedrooms (one with a doublebed and one with a bunkbed), an open livingroom/kitchen and a bathroom (with hot water) which is sometimes shared with the tourists who are visiting the waterfall. From the cabin you'll have a great view over the valley, the sorrounding mountains and la huerta (vegetablegarden garden) in front of the cabin.

We will be proving the food you need, either bringing you the groceries ourselves or leaving you some money to buy your own groceries in Pucón.

    What else ...

Our place is 45 minutes away from Pucón by bike, and 15 minutes by car. There are good trekking opportunities on our own mountainside where you can visit the waterfall as much as you want, explore the old-growth forest and its rich life, or hike to the viewpoint to get a better glimpse of the valley, the lake and the nearby Villarica volcano. We are also close to the Villarica national park as well as other protected Parks like Huerquehue and El Cañi. The valley has opportunities for doing almost all kinds of outdoor activities from paragliding to white water rafting.
