We are seeking an individual/s who can help assist us in the following:
Reception/Housekeeping volunteer:
Background in front of house would be helpful, but as long as you are friendly, have common sense, quick thinking and a good communicator then you will be considered. Someone who is good with a paintbrush will come in handy too. Based on the urgency, volunteers will be assigned to tasks (Housekeeping, maintenance, Painting rooms, fixing wallpapers, and others)
We have a rooftop which we are contemplating to change it to a rooftop cafe. Volunteer can assist in taking care of the rooftop.
Our hostel has two full-time staffs, managing aspects of reservations, housekeeping, gardening, laundry, general maintenance and other works as required to make sure the operations run smooth.
We require volunteers who can commit to us for AT LEAST 45 days.
Our first volunteers helped us to create the kitchen we now have, make-over several rooms and create our new 4 bed dorm and a lounge area. There is always something new to do!!
Single room with fan or a bed in the mixed dorm will allocated, either one which is available.
As for the meal options, we do cater or prepare meals at our hostel for volunteers. At the same time, through experience over the past years with volunteers, we do have options for them as some have very strict dieting options (Such as Vegans, Vegetarians, and other medical required diets), which we might not able to cater or meet. Such such we tend request 15 hours help a week (3 hours, 5 days), and this is also required by Workaway.Languages spoken
English: Fluent
Accommodation
Volunteer will be allocated with either a room (single bed, wall-fan, attached bath and toilet with hot shower, free wifi, use of kitchen) or Double room accommodation may also be possible (to be negotiated) or a dorm bed.
What else ...
Borneo is vast. During off days, volunteers can travel and experience the culture and traditions of the aboriginals. Sarawak has 26 different kinds of tribes, which each and everyone are totally different from one another.
