Description
Our bush block is nestled under an ancient mountain just 20 mins outside of Alice Springs - it’s absolutely beautiful. Full of birdlife and often kangaroos!
I’m an artist and tour guide and spend a lot of time working. I share my home with likeminded social, creative, and environmentally minded people. We have a campsite with an almost working outdoor shower (another project we need help with!) which is singing out to be used as a base for a work exchange.Types of help and learning opportunities

Our home is shared by 5 residents who are all pretty social, and two dogs who are extremely social. We enjoy sharing a coffee in the morning and a drink in the evening, and sometimes cook dinner together. The pups love to cuddle and play fetch.
We are all tour guides and can share info about the region in great depth - whatever your interests. I am an artist and can take you out on one of my en-plein-air watercolour painting classes if there is a class planned during your stay!
We have all travelled before and enjoy sharing the social elements of travel, and can give you a space to catch your breath and settle for a while.Help
We need help supporting the biodiversity of this awesome spot by removing the invasive buffel grass! Desert plants are surprisingly resilient and there are thousands of seeds in the soil waiting to germinate - which they can’t easily do until the grass is gone!!
Digging buffel grass out can be hard work, but the landscape thanks you when it can breathe again!
We’d be looking for a couple of hours of buffel digging a day which you will mostly be doing solo.Languages spoken

Accommodation
Camping accomodation - ideally BYO camping gear or van but I can lend you a tent and swag if needed.
We have drinking water and electricity at the campsite, and a shower that works but the floor is unstable and needs some love (a potential project for you!)
It’s best to have your own car, but I can lend you a bike. It’s a long way to ride into town, and impossible due to heat from October - March.
It’s a beautiful spot, with ancient ghost gum trees and a big fire pit and the best views of the night sky!A little more information
