Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We are situated in a village in north Goa but are only a few miles from the town of Arambol which has been a mecca for travelers since the 60's . The place is full of interesting characters of all ages from all over the world. In addition, many of our customers are Indian coming to Goa for a holiday so it is a great situation to connect with people from all over the country. Goa has a rich cultural heritage which includes 500 years of Portuguese influence so there are many interesting temples, churches and historical buildings to visit.
If you aren't a surfer but would like to learn, Goa is a great place to learn. The sea conditions are gentle and easy to learn in and we've been teaching surfing for 11 years so will definitely get you out and riding those waves.
Help
We have a few types of openings.
1) Surf instructors.
2) Carpenters and really good handymen or women.
3) Musicians
1) We are calling surf instructors to help teach and get involved at our surf school. We prefer those who can commit to 2-3 months work but are open to other arrangements.
We'd rather have certified instructors but will also consider surfers who have experience teaching and sharing the joy of surfing. Those with lifeguard/saver qualifications will be given preference.
2) We've got a bunch of ridiculous projects and pipe dreams that want someone's help bring them to life. You'll get the chance to work with local materials (bamboo, coconut rope, sticks etc) and to work along side our regular team of workmen (no women in there, sorry) who will have you scratching your head in amazement at what they can accomplish with what little they use. (Think dried coconut shell for most digging jobs) And you'll probably get invited to their home for the spiciest biryani you've ever had.
3) Ok, musicians. This one is a bit specific.
For musicians we are looking for someone who's got a few different acts and can cover a few different types of events. Ideally you play an instrument well enough and have enough songs to make an afternoon gig, and have a music collection that you can DJ or be selctor for an evening or two. But we are open to other ideas so hit us up.
Warning, art is of course subjective and we've got a pretty strong sense of our style and feel so if you've just sent us your latest hard-core psy set and you don't get invited please don't be upset, it's not you, it's us.
We aren't pretending to be exclusive, we just know whats gonna work with the vibe here.

Accommodation
We offer a "beach hut bunk room" in our beautiful garden 100 meters from the beach.
You'd have your own bunk bed and locker and there is a separate room for boys and girls. We have a great work space in the cafe where you are welcome to hangout with the fastest internet in our area.
What else ...
Most of the work will be in the mornings so the afternoons and evenings will be your own. We are at the quiet end of Arambol beach which has a big community of travelers and is basically a 5 month long festival. Walking up the beach in the morning or evening, you'll pass people engaged in almost every physical and spiritual practice you can imagine. Yoga, Tai Chi, Juggling, Acrobatics, Meditations and all forms of goofing off, this beach has it all. You can walk to most things you'll need but the best way to get around is on a motor scooter and there are many lovely villages, rivers and beaches to visit. Traveling further east you can visit the Western Ghats which has tiger reserves. The capital of Goa, Panjim, has many buildings from the Portuguese era. There is plenty of nightlife in Goa with hundreds of restaurants, bars and clubs to visit.

So, our area of Goa doesn't have a great internet connection. Some days it's fine but on others it's just slow or dead, ("dead" doesn't happen too often but it can happen) We tend to have a few back up 5G connections for emergencies.
