Description
We are an active older couple, living in a small village on the far south coast of New South Wales, Australia. We are well-travelled and are interested in meeting people from other countries and cultures. The area where we live is beautiful, with excellent beaches within a few minutes walk and national park forests and waterways all around. Wildlife is prolific. We are active locally in environmental advocacy and can talk about some of the issues.

We live in a small rural community where people are friendly and open to visitors so there are opportunities to meet lots of locals. We are active in the community, are politically aware and involved in environmental advocacy. We like music, books and ideas and would be interested to share our experience. We are also happy to help people improve their English If desired.

We are looking for someone to help with general chores around the house - cleaning, gardening and food preparation. No special skills are needed.

In my career working overseas I learned several languages to a working level of proficiency - principally French, Indonesian and Korean, but also Lao, Vietnamese and Spanish. Unfortunately I have forgotten most of what I previously had but if the opportunity arises, I would like to defamiliarise with them.
Accommodation
You would have a private bedroom on the ground floor of the house (we are upstairs). You would have a small bathroom for your own use. The kitchen and dining area would be shared, and we would look to you to prepare some meals.

Our area is a nature lovers’ paradise, ideal for anyone interested in marine life, wildlife or plants, or just wanting to be close to nature. It is also great for active people interested in surfing, scuba diving, bush walking and other outdoor activities. Everything is right at the doorstep. The village is 8 kms from the nearest small town, which has cafes, a restaurant, a craft brewery and a pub. However there is no public transport. We are at home virtually all the time. When we go to town, you would be welcome to come with us. Helpers would have to be non-smokers.
