Description
We are Miriam and Philipp - a Norwegian/German couple with three kids (14, 12 and a baby). We have been living and drifting our own little campsite in Northern Norway since April 2019, and we have a lot of projects happening this spring and summer.
Our campsite is located close to the sea (2km), with excellent access to several beautiful mountains (perfect for hikes). If you love nature, this is an amazing place to be. Philipp is educated as an electrician whilst Miriam has a masters degree in economy. We have four rabbits, one cat and several chickens.

We are based by the coast in Northern Norway, surrounded by majestic mountains. If you like nature, this is a perfect place for you. All of the mountain tops are easy to reach by foot. We are also surrounded by many island, beaches and lakes. You will be able to experience a northern norwegian summer with a norwegian and german family. If you'd like language exchange, we can speak English, Norwegian and some German. In addition, since we are on a campsite you will get to meet a lot of travelers from all over the world. AND we have midnight sun !
We can also share a lot about our knowledge about running your own business in Norway.
We have this for you to borrow: fishing rods, bike, SUP-board, outdoor gear (like tent, cocking equipment and so on). WE LOVE going camping in the wild ! We can also help give you advice on where to on hikes and camping with a tent.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
Main projects this spring and summer is:
- Building/carpenting. We are building a whole new building in April/May and could REALLY use some with carpenting experience! Only the foundation is up. The rest (roof, walls, floor, insulation, electric, water, windows, doors, inventory, kitchen, EVERYTHING) will have to be done quite fast.
- Painting buildings
- Gardening (cutting grass)
- Cook family dinner
IF you are interested and you have cleaning experience (or you are able to do an excellent job!), we CAN offer you paid work as a cleaner (if you have a D-number). This work will we done officially, with contract and you will have to pay taxes.
