My name is Barbara and as much as I love gardening I could sure use your help in mine! Located just outside of Gainesville, Fl I need assistance with landscaping, in ground swimming pool cleaning and other general maintenance. Quiet rural setting host to local deer, peacocks, woodpeckers, sandhill cranes & most recently a family of foxes with neighbors that host horses, cattle, turkey, donkey, buffalo and goats agriculturally. For those interested in actual equine care there is a therapeutic riding association, less than a mile away.
My tiny town of Archer is just six miles away and the town of Gainesville is 15 miles away. A bike is provided but otherwise I would be willing to provide a few trips into town for day long excursions and an occasional outing depending upon your length of stay. Having personal transportation would be more advantageous for those less content to enjoy the beauty of my property because Archer is a very rural area. Food is included in this stay as is a private bedroom & bathroom.
Arriving here: The closest airport would be Jacksonville or Orlando International Airport, you would need to take a shuttle or bus to the Gainesville location Greyhound bus location and I would pick you up from there. Looking forward to your visit!

Gainesville is home to a wealth of progressive students attending the University of Florida. Many free events take place to include weekly music festivities that feature local artists, farmers markets, museums, Kanapaha Botanical Gardens, famous Florida crystal clear, natural swimming springs and UF's bat house observatory. There's the incredible Butterfly Rainforest, the Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo, local play houses, concert venues, night clubs, organic eateries, many whole food markets, the famous author Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings' house, Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, the Stephen O'Connell Center, La Chua Trail, Canopy Climbers climbing tours, the Swamp Head Brewery, Devil's Millhopper Geological State Park and Paynes Prairie, a must see for gator enthusiasts! Less than two hours drive from St Augustine (oldest city in the US), Daytona Beach, Orlando, the manatee watchers destination of Crystal River and the Old Florida feel provided by the quaint island of Cedar Key. Interested in our Florida gators? We'll find 'em, they're close by so have your camera ready!
* I currently need help with a few indoor painting projects and house cleaning.
Landscaping to include mowing, pulling weeds, transplanting, pruning and starter beds. Painting, construction repair/ remodeling work on my old barn and limb removal are some of the other miscellaneous jobs that need tending to. I recently had several huge old trees come down in a storm that need to be cut up and removed.
Private room is provided inside my home with a private bath or a tiny house out back. Kitchen would be shared in the main house and guests would be responsible for preparing their own meals and cleaning up after themselves. We may have the occasional shared dinner but I don't cook big meals that often anymore. Tidiness is a no-compromise area for me, guests would be expected to always leave their area/living quarters neat and tidy. I have a wonderful in ground swimming pool for you to use during our hot summer months, so dive in!
Interested in Florida wildlife? You'll see loads of it here: gators, sandhill cranes, woodpeckers, deer, gopher tortoises, snakes, foxes and much more!
