    Description

We (Sarah and Chris) are originally from the UK (although we haven't lived there for over 15 years!), we lived in Cyprus for a few years and have now been living in rural Catalunya for 12 years.

We live on an olive farm (The Valley), which is located about 3km from the rural Catalan village of Riba-roja d'Ebre. We are surrounded by picturesque valley and mountain backdrop close to the River Ebro. We have absolutely no light pollution so the stars are amazing!

We are a registered not-for-profit cultural association based in 'The Valley' which offers residencies for like minded creatives with a focus on sustainability. We organise artist residencies and commissions both here in The Valley and in the local village. We welcome applications for artistic proposals for creative projects throughout the year.

Pruning the hundreds of olive trees throughout the year is very important for the annual harvest in November, which we offer to our volunteer visitors as an activity.

A bit more about our background - Chris is a web and graphic designer and I'm an artist. We have hosted many workaways and it's such an amazing experience, meeting people from all over the world. Talking round the dinner table till late, hearing such awesome stories, sharing ideas and getting to know new people with fresh perspectives and fantastic personalities!

We really appreciate help and support here on the farm with the varied projects and love having a shared vision for this place with new people - creating a community.

What we can offer you - basic off-grid accommodation either in the large static caravan or the VW campervan, a home cooked vegetarian evening meal, awesome views of the Catalan landscape, the peaceful environment of The Valley and the self-taught skills we have acquired over the last few years! We receive a lot of applications from people traveling with their dogs - we are sorry but we cannot host your pets!!

What we ask for from you - a few hours of your time helping us with either a specific project in progress (this could be either on the farm or in the village) or general farm activities. We appreciate your energy and enthusiasm!

We look forward to hearing from you!

We always need help on the farm with the olive trees, either pruning or harvesting. General clearing of weeds to maintain the farm is also needed.
Strong footwear and gloves is a must whenever working with us.
