    Description

Here in West Vancouver we have an abundance of trails and walks on our doorstep - we love that we can choose between a beach walk, forest walk or a more strenuous hike up any of the local mountains on the north shore. The gorgeous landscape of the city over water from our local beach or the beautiful mountains out behind the house still leaves me in awe after the 3 years we’ve now been here!
We’re a British family who have lived in a few different countries over the years but love calling Canada home now. Our 2 teen daughters attend the local secondary school and are busy with their sports and activities. And then there’s our other girls - our 2 Golden Irish dogs ! Flo and Maisie are lovable goofballs who love to get outdoors and love to chill when home again . They keep us busy and entertained with their endless antics - Flo is the ridiculously tolerant older one at 5 and Maisie is our rumbunctious teen at 1.5 who will wrap you round her paw with her sweetness!

There is always plenty going on over here on the North Shore and an opportunity to embrace the Canadian outdoors right on our doorstep. As well as the main attractions there is an abundance of outdoor activities to try whatever the season on the local mountains - Cypress, Grouse, Seymour - snow shoeing, downhill and cross country skiing, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, rock climbing and more. We are also only 30 mins by bus into downtown Vancouver and then to the north just 45 mins to Squamish and 1.5 hrs to Whistler.

Having lived in a few countries ourselves prior to settling here in Canada, we’re very familiar with the need and desire to explore and embrace cultures other than your own. We’re happy to support and foster any opportunities our workawayer is keen to explore.

**Update - we have now filled March** **We will refine our summer dates by the end of April**
Primarily you’ll be helping us out by looking after our two dogs and staying at our house while we are enjoying a break away ourselves in the school holidays.
Responsibilities include; feeding the dogs twice a day, walking the dogs at least once a day, ensuring they are clean and comfortable and just generally having their health and safety as a priority. Cuddles are a must :)
They are hairy dogs so some vacuuming will also be necessary throughout the house during your stay as will the washing of dog towels and blankets as required.

During the days before we would leave, we will invite you to stay with us so you can familiarise with the dogs, the house and the local area - we will show you local walks and trails, local amenities and so on. During this time we would also encourage any help around the house as needed - likely to be helping with meal preparation, some tidying and house cleaning, some gardening.

The ability to drive in Canada will be a bonus as this will expand your walk and trail choice, but it’s not essential.

    What else ...

We are on a main bus route into downtown and a short walk from another main route in both directions. We are a short (but very uphill!) walk to a shopping village with supermarket, pharmacy, dentist, vet, hairdresser, bank, coffee shop & a couple of fast food places.

We can direct our workawayer to many places locally and further afield to spend their time off.

We would appreciate no smoking or use of drugs while staying at our home.
