Hi travelers!
Welcome to one of the oldest Hostels in the lovely town of Gudhjem, in the Danish island of Bornholm.
Bornholm island is located in the Baltic Sea, south of Sweden and far east from the rest of Denmark, also called the rocky island, the sunshine lake or the pearl of the Baltic sea.
We need some help around the hostel, or around the house, mostly during the high season ( end of April to end of September).
This might include welcoming guests, cleaning rooms and common areas, some gardening, and maintenance.
We are two travelers that now settle, and we have used workaway for a long time, in different countries, with different cultures, meeting amazing people from all over the world that teach us and helped us so much, so now we have the opportunity to do the same for someone else.

You will be immersed in the Nordic and Danish culture, you will meet people from all over the world such as guests and other helpers, you will get to taste traditional dishes from the Danish cuisine, explore a beautiful place, and always with good vibes and a smile.
You will get a lot of free time to explore the island on your own, and we will help you to take with you the best of Bornholm.
If you are good at football, Lucas could take you with him to his team in Rønne and play at the tournament in the Island. There is a league for girls and for boys, and it is an official league in Denmark.
If you are not so good but you like it, we can play mixed football here in Gudhjem :)Host offers payment in line with the minimum wage

The exchange is for 18 working hours a week divided in 5 days and 2 days off, but we are flexible and we can arrange a different schedule if you need.
Team work is very important for us, we help each other and try to make everyone's life easier.
It is also important for us that you know how to behave around guests and have keen eye for details, and mostly that you enjoy what you are doing.
If you want to come for a short period and you have special skills, or you think you can contribute with something you like, please let us know, we want to make this a happy place with happy people.

Accommodation
You will stay at the Hostel, and will have a bed in a shared room with shared bathroom ( only for volunteers or Staff, you will not have to share the room with guests, and always with plenty space in the room
)
You will have the kitchen from the hostel to make some tasty meals , and you always will have some coffee, tea bread and cereals for free to start your day :)
What else ...
Bornholm has incredible nature, completely different to the rest of Denmark.
The rocky landscapes, the white sand beaches like Dueodde or Rønne, forests with little waterfalls like Rø, ruins as Hammershus, some Viking settlements, and incredible cliffs, we can try to find the wild bisons in the forest, plus the great variety of activities, and of course the lovely local people makes Bornholm a special place.
We always do activities together such as mixed football, going to the beach, make BBQ, have some drinks, and we will show you around as much as we can :)

Very independent, respectful, easy going, always helpful and in good mood.

Bornholm Island is a beautiful place with a lot of forest, and especially the town of Gudhjem, which is charming and magical.
