Claus (47) and I (Martina 46) bought a small house from the early 1800s that once used to be a farm. We are busy renovating the house at the moment. We do not have any animals yet. Our small village has about 100 inhabitants and is located in the beautiful are of Hohenlohe in the southern part of Germany. The famous city of Rothenburg is about 30 min, Heidelberg, Stuttgart, Nuremberg are about 60 min by car from our house. We are surrounded by castels and beautiful landscape, ideal for cycling, swimming in the river, hiking etc. Claus is a rock climbing instructor and cliffs are located near Nuremberg and south of Stuttgart. We are baking our own bread in a traditional wood-fired oven which we especially had build in the kitchen and that also is perfect for pizza and our traditional swabian pizza:-)

We are basically busy doing interior construction work in the house such as laying wooden floors, painting, rebuilding half-timbered walls and filling with clay bricks. We try to use the old traditional techniques from the 19th century using mainly wood and clay as construction material. In summer time there is work such as building a terrasse, wood chopping, rearranging the barn, collecting wallnuts. Also one big project is tranferring the former cattle stand into living area which means digging out the ground and filling with concrete etc. In winter times we go out to the forests to chop trees for firewood.
You see we have plenty of different kinds of work and can chose an adequate project for you.
