    Description

I am Farshid, Persian originally and have lived in Sweden for twenty years and I work mainly online as a translator. I came to Spain in 2018, broken and tired after a painfull divorce and difficulties that came afterward and was looking for a place of healing, a place to start up something new. I kept searching for about three years. My dream was to find a place outside the big cities and the crowded places, where I can find peace of mind, keeping some chickens, a horse, planting my own food, watching it grow from seed to harvest and find a way to live a sustainable and blanced life. I finally found the right place and this peace of land was like a dream that came true. It was love at first sight, took me just one hour to make my decision. Looked like purchasing a bit of heaven, a piece of mountain, with all vegetation that grows on hillsides and all birds nesting around it. I said yes and here I am now, two years after: restored and healed, happier than ever, surronded by lovely genuin people, living the LIFE as it should be (in my opinion), developed a unic respectfull friendship with this old house, with foundations that are 300 years old! It has a lot of features that I love! This house has two bedrooms in downstairs and another bigger one i uppstairs, and a small kitchen and a bathroom next to it (So, don´t expect a luxury life when you come here!) Actually it is really simple ,an old style farmhouse, sourunded by a beautiful landscape, close to a river and a forest. The best part of the house is an old fashioned stone oven, that gives you heavenly breads and pizza, baked on olive wood!

I have planted many trees, not all of them survived unfortunatly, but I am learning from my mistakes. I began to plant some food and I do small progress, and It feels good, as we say here in Spain: Poco a poco! Almost everyone that has been here saying that there is something magical with the place. It is exactly what I hoped for: a place of healing. I enjoy every moment of my new life, never been this much satisfied and fullfiled in whole my life, with all new friends around me and the help I recived from friends, neighbours and my Workawayers!

To be honest I prefer to work in the garden and give up my carier as translator, but I need my income of course, and I almost know nothing about eco-gardening, planting and building and would really like some help. There are 6000 square meters of land most of it on a slope and I want to plant more food and more fruit trees, create a water system, paint, restore old furniture (I have a passion for vintage and old stuff!), a bit of construction maybe, some carpentry, and I want to build a treehouse here one day and I want to prepare a place for keeping a horse (I have already an old barn that need a new roof). Sounds crazy, huh? But I´m open to ideas!
The house is ten minutes walk from the bus stop that can take you either up to a beautifull mountain village (10 minitues by bus) or closest town (beach town/city 10 minitues by bus).

We work 5 hours a day in the morning , and on the free time you spend your time as you like. Sea is just 10 minutes- and mountain just 5 minutes away and always you can find intresting activities to do in sourounding areas, like surfing, swimming and hiking.
We prepare meals together, we have diffrent kind of skills in every kind of cooking and by joined cooking we will get amazing healthy meals.

I have both good and less satisfying experiences from Workawyers. Some of the most amazing people I have met in whole my life was Workawayers and we still keep contact and they come back time after time. Unfortuatly there are some people that just looking for a cheap way to travel too and you will be surprized to see this happen again and again. Some people don`t take the tasks seriously and some behave direspectfully. Most of the time I am not shy to remind this kind of people that they are not guests in a hotel, and by asking for a place as a workawayer we have reached an mutual agreement about how things work. So please bear this in mind that everything will work much smoother if you know what living in a farmhouse looks like and what is expected from you.
