Do you speak fluent French and do you have experience working at the reception? We are still looking for some help starting now/ beginning of September!
We are an Ecolodge located in a wonderful bay on the Atlantic coast of Morocco. The authentic Berber village, Tafedna, has been preserved from mass-tourism and retains all the charm of a traditional fishing village. We have built an ecological structure (eco-lodge) with phytotreatment basins for the water, dry toilets, waste-sorting and upcycling. We are also 100% solar powered. The property consists of mixed accommodations including bungalows, shared dorms, Berber Tents, and ocean view rooms. Our main building features a kitchen, dining room, bar and lounge space, the blue yoga room, and a huge terrace overlooking the ocean.
All of our meals are prepared daily with locally sourced ingredients. The menu rotates depending on the availability of produce and is always of the highest quality. Our team of chefs has been with us since the beginning and deliver exceptional flavors in our Moroccan fusion meals.

The entire lodge is built by hand following ecological principles—sustainable building, eco-concepts, water filtration, composting, etc. This is a great place to learn various techniques and contribute your own ideas!
Our volunteers and core staff are a mix of Europeans and Moroccans—Some only speak Berbere, some only English, some only French. It is a great place to pick up on languages and join in on our interesting conversations! We also hold regular Artist Residencies that are fully interactive, ranging from Painting to Film to Music. Each residency is unique and brings a new energy to the lodge.
Food is our passion and we create incredible fusion meals. The chefs are always sharing their secrets and love outside input and ideas. If you love cooking or want to improve your skills we can definitely help!
The local women make Argan oil from hand and are always ready to share their secrets (and some of the workload! :) ) with those wanting to learn. In your free time, you can explore the coastline at your leisure, go for a canyon hike, and learn to surf with the locals. Our surf instructor is always happy to go out with friends and volunteers. He lives in the village Tafedna which is a 20 minutes walk from our Hostel. There you also find the surfspot. The area is rich with incredible landscapes and an absolute treasure to explore.
If there is anything you’re passionate about that you would like to share with our community, we welcome group activities to bring people closer together and appreciate knowledge and skills being shared by our volunteers!
Our goal is to cultivate an engaging environment for both our volunteers and guests. We look for a variety of people carrying a range of skills, but hospitality is our primary need at the moment and a huge plus if you have the prior experience.
We will sometimes have volunteers help out at reception to do check ins, check outs, and assist with ongoing needs and requests of our guests, but guest engagement is everyone’s responsibility. We want people to feel cared for and looked after so fostering connections is equally important to the manual labor!
We prefer to take volunteers who can commit for at least a month. The longer you stay with us, the more you’re able to immerse in the culture of the place and become a valued part of our community. We are looking for motivated people with common sense and who have deep pride in their work. We operate as a team and it’s important to take initiative and responsibility in the day to day operations. Our volunteers are Involved in the process of trash management including compost, plastic collection, and recycling. We are always looking to improve our processes so if you’re an expert in compost and waste management, we would love your assistance!
In exchange for your time and volunteer work, you will be provided shared dorm accommodation, family meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, half price on all menu items, tea/coffee and water provided for free, as well as half-price surf hire. We do not offer WIFI, but volunteers (and guests) can buy a SIM-Card for 50DH. This includes 1GB and 1/2 hour of call, but you can charge it and use it as long as you need it. We will try our best to support you in every idea or plan you have!
Out here in the Moroccan countryside, we are surrounded by pure nature. That means we share the landscape with camels, donkeys, cows, cats, birds, geckos, and very vocal frogs around our pond. Life can get tough living in the middle of nowhere, but if you have common sense and are motivated, it is paradise. It’s also important to be adaptable. It seldom rains, but the rare times it does, a quick trip to the next town or city can become an adventure. Sometimes we are out of electricity or water for short moments, but it’s all apart of the experience. We are 700m from the beach and the surrounding area is spectacular!

The volunteer accommodation is separate from guests on the second level of the house behind our ecolodge. It is a basic shared accommodation.
We are around 1 hour from Essaouira and 1 hour from the popular surf spot - Taghazout. You can go on big hikes all around the place visiting the spectacular scenery!
