    Description

We live in the heart of Muskoka, on a large, waterfront forested property in beautiful cottage country. It is wonderful here in the summer, but in some ways even better in the winter, when it is quiet, peaceful and calm.

The cottage is an original, historic log cabin. It is full of character but also fully modernized -- and winterized. There's a wood-burning fireplace, furnace, washer and dryer, dishwasher and high-speed internet - and we have a generator that kicks in when the hydro goes out.

We have two lively and loveable medium-sized dogs - an 8-year-old rescue, "Izzy," and a two-year-old chocolate lab named Finn. Izzy loves her humans, but is reactive to other dogs (except Finn and dogs she knows), so needs special handling. Finn just thinks everyone loves him. They love walks, hikes and trails and being outside.

  • Help

    Help

We are planning a two-week vacation in February and need someone to look after the dogs -- take them on walks, feed them, etc. -- and also look after the cottage.
We are a bit flexible on dates at this point because we haven't booked yet -- need to line up someone for the dogs first.
Hope you can help! You will love Muskoka in winter

    Profile photo of Finn

    Finn (1 year)

Finn is a two-year-old chocolate lab. Still a puppy! He is very cuddly and loves everyone. Very social! He goes on group hikes with his doggie friends a couple times a week and loves it!
He loves the water and in the summer his favourite thing is to go swimming off the dock.

    Profile photo of Izzy

    Izzy (8 years)

Izzy is an 8-year-old rescue dog from Turkey. We are uncertain of her age and breed - she is mixed for sure.
Izzy loves humans, is very affectionate and is good with kids. But she can be reactive with other dogs she doesn't know. Because of this she needs special handling on her walks. Is not much of problem up here, because we rarely run into other dogs on our walks. She loves her brother, Finn.
She enjoys being outside and stays on the property. But she does not like the water or swimming! We cannot get her to go in! That's OK. She enjoys being on the dock with us
