    Description

    who:
We are a colombo - belgian family and represent an organization which started as a collective in 2000 in Bogotá, Colombia, and became a non for profit organization in 2005. We have always been active working on grass roots projects related to alternative living practices and have created numerous cultural events and products in Colombia. We are looking for volunteers to help us organize our off the beaten path living space and rural sustainable living laboratory located in the mountainous jungles of the Caribbean in the scared Sierra Nevada de Santa MArta. + also help out with alternative educaction project we have running in anf indigenous primary school.

    Where:

An hour and a half by car from Santa Marta is the Palomino river which marks the entrance to La Guajira. An hour walking upstream from Palomino by mountains ,we have an estate of 15 acres next to the Palomino river. The farm is mountainous and covered with small trees, with a portion of native forest in the highest part . We are in the process of reforesting the land with native trees that serve as timber , habitat and food for wildlife as well as developing the diferent living spaces and growing food ectc,.

The farm has basic and beautiful installations to stay near the river . The Palomino River is the second most important of the Sierra Nevada and is approximately 40 meters wide , begins on the eternal snows and ends in the sea that is a mile below the farm. It is a pleasure and privilege to swim in a deep river which is also clean enough to drink. Our neighbors are the Kogi Indians bordering south , indigenous Arhuaco on the opposite bank of the river and peasants and " civilized" north and east. 15 minutes from us is the town Kogi town Seywiaka and 40 minutes Palomino village is located .

We recieve no more then 1 or 2 visitors at a time and there are not many neighbors, so if you are looking for social life, there might not be much.

*️️ The farm is a 1 hour walk from Palomino , facilities are basic and there are insects , snakes and other dangerous factors. There are also pests ticks and generally life can there be difficult for a person coming from another climate or city . The person who comes to spend time with us must fully understand and accept these conditions before coming. We will provide the information necessary so that each resident knows how to handle the environment but everyone must take responsibility for their health and life.

    QUIENES
