Description
CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING GUESTS DUE TO FAMILY TRAGEDY
We live on a 4 acre lifestyle block north of Tauranga where we are setting up our permaculture dream. We have two young children (4 and 6years) who we are currently homeschooling, one energetic dog, 3 friendly goats, 2 kunekune pigs, 5 chickens and lots of bees. We moved here from Wellington a year ago. We are learning all about permaculture and we have a lot of plans for the property. We spend all our spare time getting things done around the place and love it, but could really use some more hands on deck. If you love getting your hands dirty, hanging out with friendly animals and kids and doing outdoor projects we'd love to hear from you. We are a non smoking, vegetarian household. With two young kids it’s a busy place! -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We love meeting travellers and sharing stories and experiences. Before we had our children we travelled extensively both in NZ and overseas. We'd love to learn about your culture and share ours. We are also learning all about permaculture so can share what we know and if you have any permaculture knowledge we’d love to learn from you too!

What else ...
We live close to beaches, bush walks, rivers and mountain areas. There is a lot to do in the area for adventurous people. We are 10 minutes to Katikati, 10mins to Omokoroa, 20mins to Tauranga central and 30mins to Mount Maunganui. Unfortunately there is no public transport available where we live so you will need your own transport.

I helped them with the garden and we made hot compost together. Feeding the animals was fun. They have many exciting projects for the land.
We had a very interesting and enriching cultural exchange. I loved that we prepared kawakawa balm!

I loved exchanging ideas and knowledge about permaculture and food forestry and helping them with their projects. Jobs were diverse and ranged from planting and weeding over stacking wood to looking after the animals. I much appreciated our shared family dinners and the chance to share and learn recipes.

I felt as a part of the family after very short time. Sahita is always smiling and is full of energy. Both girls are very talkative and easygoing. I watched after Frankie or / and Thea sometimes and we always had a really good time with … read more
