We have a 97-acre hobby farm (laying hens and organic vegetables) on the Frontenac Arch biosphere area, just off the St Lawrence river and ten minutes from downtown Kingston Ontario. It is a beautiful area for hiking, biking, , and boating.
Creating/ Cooking family meals
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
We are university-educated (psychologist, historian, IT developer) and widely-read; we like to stay up on current events and discuss them. We also have an awesome movie collection and wifi everywhere ;-)
We need help weeding our large organic vegetable garden, moving hay, and mowing pastures. Familiarity with horses is an asset, as is familiarity with tractors and a driver's license.
Large sunny private bedroom with shared bathroom. Shared meals and occasional use of vehicle.
We have miles of hiking trails,r and a marina half a kilometer away. The biking is excellent (the Kingston Triathlon route cycles right past our driveway). Kingston's downtown is ten minutes by car or 30 minutes by bicycle, passing Fort Henry historic site on the way.
Kingston is home to two universities and a college, so there is a very active arts scene. The area has deep historic roots, interesting geology, and lots of wildlife. We are centrally located between Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal so day trips are quite feasible.
