Description
Hello, I am Marina,
I live in Pisogne, a small Italian village on Lake Iseo (Brescia), with my partner. I have two children, Andrea and Caterina. Caterina lives and studies in Rome, while Andrea works in the development of technologies for the agricultural field and lives next to Treviso. My partner, Alessandro, is a business advisor who often works from home. We have a big garden, 3 cats and 1 old dog.
I work as a public relations consultant specializing in biodiversity protection, cultural heritage, and intercultural projects. My work schedule is a mix of remote work and travel across Italy, especially to Rome. In the past, I was a teacher and managed many cultural exchange programs. I also spent 10 years working in international contexts.
We are happy to host in our family who want to learn or improve their knowledge of Italian culture and language; In return we ask Workawayers help us in the garden and small house maintenance work. We live in a spacious house in Pisogne, a beautiful place on Lake Iseo—known as "The Romantic Choice" (a quote from Lady Mary Wortley Montagu) and the site where the artist Christo created his famous "Floating Piers."
Pisogne is located between Milan and Verona, near the Adamello mountains. We are just 20 kilometers away from Italy's first UNESCO World Heritage Site (an archaeological site) and 40’, by car or train, from Brescia and Bergamo, the Italian Capitals of Culture in 2023. This area offers countless cultural experiences, and the people here are generally very friendly.
Our guest will have a private bedroom and bathroom. We'll share kitchen, living room and garden.
We love music, art, reading, engaging in good conversations, cooking, taking outdoor walks, and spending time with friends, whether hosting them or visiting others. For our guests, we offer the chance to participate in music sessions, book readings, exhibition vernissages, and evenings with friends, creating an atmosphere where they can improve the language and experience the Italian "good living".
Our home is nestled between the lake and the mountains, making it the perfect spot for water sports (such as kayaking, sailing, and windsurfing), cycling, or mountain activities.
We speak Italian, English and French.Types of help and learning opportunities

Expecially during the summer around the lake there are a lot of possibilities: lissen music in the villages, visit art exhibitions, good conversations with people, outdoor walks. There is in all the little villages and also in Bergamo and Brescia a very nice atmosphere where the guests can improve the language and experience the Italian "good living".

We ask workawayers to help us with the small work in the garden (cutting grass, picking leaves, cleaning tables and chairs, watering flowers etc.) and to cooperate with us in the maintenance of the house (repaint the railings, walls of some rooms). Generally it will be working with us (especially with Alessandro) for an average of 3 hours a day. We will share meals and be happy, if the guest wishes, to suggest activities or visit some significant places together

We can also offer the possibility to learn/improve Italian Language.Accommodation
We offer the guest a double bedroom and a private bathroom, with weekly cleaning. The house has laundry rooms, where clothes can be washed. As for food, we love to cook and can meet the needs of guests. Obviously we cook mainly recipes of traditional Italian cuisine, but it will be a pleasure to arrange with the guests also for this aspect.
What else ...
Pisogne has a good public transport connection. There is a train, a railway that runs from Brescia, the vineyards of Franciacorta, all over Lake Iseo and goes to Edolo in the Alps. From here you can easily reach the high-speed rail network and reach in a few hours Milan, Venice, Florence and Rome. There is a cycle path that follows the course of the river Oglio, starting from the Passo del Tonale to the river Po'. Public transport is also carried out by boats that connect the different villages on the lake’s shore and allows you to reach Monteisola (the largest lake island in Europe). There are many possibilities to make excursions in the mountains or trekking. Numerous museums and frescoed churches can be visited all year round. Here it is very easy to meet and get to know artists and people love sports.
Regarding the rules to be observed in the house: no smoking, no drugs and no guests. We believe in the power of kindness. We are kind to others and love the company of kind people.A little more information
