    Description

    This is Shawn & Jane couple living in Hakuba village, Nagano, Japan. Me, Shawn lives in Hakuba during winter to manage a Ski&Snowboard guest house while Jane works in Tokyo but comes to Hakuba often. We are a Chinese couple who have been staying in Japan for 12 years.

    Our house is located in Echoland area surrounded by forests, vacation houses and restaurants & bars, And most importantly, near the most famous resort, Hakuba Happo-one, 1998 Winter Olympic venue, which you can catch the free shuttles by walk for a few minutes. Hakuba Goryu&47 is 10mins drive from the house. In addition, We love snowboard very much and we both are qualified snowboard instructor of SAJ, The Ski&Snowboard Association of Japan. We are more than willingly to teach you how if you haven't experienced the fun of snowboard, and we are also looking forward to ride with you if you are already an enthusiast.

    We have 2 guest houses to be managed: X Seasons Inn and White Hill Lodge

    Our hostel is our main place which can accommodate up to 27 guests mainly families, couples, travelers and groups from everywhere in the world.
    Our wood house, right beside our hostel, is our second place, there are 8 standard twin rooms and 4 loft rooms.
    There will be breakfast in the hostel for guests staying in both of these 2 places. the Dining room in the wood house is used as a public gathering place.
    You will meet lots of like-minded snow sports lovers who seeking for the same goal, powder snow of Hakuba, the so called Japanese Alps.

    We are looking for helpers who wish to stay and experience Skiing in spring season(from mid of March till start of May)
    Since there will not be a lot of guests during Spring season, your wage will be paid in exchange of accommodation.

    We will provide:
    - Accommodation
    Separate room by gender, 2-4 people sharing 1 room.
    Staying either in X Seasons Inn or White Hill Lodge
    - Basic food supply such as rice, bread, onions, potato, etc.
    - Ski lift passes(1 free pass for Hakuba 47 ski resort and discounted passes for Hakuba Goryu&47)

    Preferred character:
    - Be host-minded and always feel responsibility to take care of the house.
    - Be self- motivated and be able to work independently.
    - Have patience and Always pay attention to details particularly while cleaning up.
    - Be able to work and live in a team and shared environment.
    - Be friendly and willingly to help guests.

    Skills:
    - Driver License and experience is recommended.
    - English speaking is recommended.
    - Hostel helping experience is highly preferred.
    - Kitchen & bar working experience is highly preferred.
    - Cooking skills is highly preferred.
    - Beginner level Japanese speaking is welcomed.

    You will:
    - be able to visit Japanese sightseeing spot such as the Matsumoto Castle, the ZenkoTemple and Snow monkeys in Jigokutani Valley Onsen.
    - be able to experience Japow, the unique quality powder snow in Hakuba.
    - Learn about Japanese and Chinese language and culture.
    - Meet guests speaking different languages and learn their culture.
    - Practice snowboarding and Ski skill.

    Help

    Work up to 6 hours/day and al least 8 days off per month. Working hours will be adjusted and scheduled depending on the number of guests and works need to be done.
    - Help around for house clean up, bed making.
    - Help for snow removal using shovel and snow thrower machine.
    - Help cooking Japanese or European style breakfast, you will get introduction before start to cook.
    - Picking up/Dropping off Guests between hotel and ski lift
    - Help for checking in and answer guests' request.
