    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We host guests from around the World and working with us is a great way to meet people, learn of other cultures, and make new friends. We are English-speaking and will be frequently living and working on the same site, but workawayers will also be living and working independently. We are also in the heart of the Champagne and Aishihik First Nations Traditional Territory and they have an amazing cultural centre in the nearest community. Many local activities and events occur during the Summer season and workawayers will be encouraged to participate and enjoy the rich and diverse opportunities available. The local town hosts live music every weekend at the excellent Village Bakery, an annual Bluegrass Festival, a biannual First Nations Dance Festival, and a range of other events hosted by Parks Canada and others in the local community. We have operated this business for 5 years and also have a deep background of work in the environmental and conservation sciences, local natural history and First Nations governance. We would be pleased to share our knowledge and experience with our workaway partners. We look forward to learning from our helpers too!

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Workawayers should have access to their own transportation but if this is a problem, please let us know and we may have some options. There are a lot of hiking trails and great places to visit in Kluane National Park and Reserve, that you will have time to explore on your days off, or after work hours. Haines Junction is a vibrant little community with an active arts and culture scene. The local Village Bakery host live local music and great dinners every Friday and Saturday night. Whitehorse is about 2 hours away by car and has many things to do and see. There are many other places to check out, with the Tatshenshini-Alsek Provincinal Wilderness Park less than an hour south on the Haines Road, or go further to reach Haines, Alaska along the Pacific Northwest coast being an excellent getaway. We are a non-smoking facility, respect and honor people from a variety of backgrounds and lifestyles. We also promote our facility as a quiet peaceful place to enjoy.
