    Description

We are a conservation charity for endangered vultures based in 110 acres of varied landscape we are managing for wildlife and biodiversity. We have a collection of vultures who need caring for and their aviaries require constant upkeep, we also have gardens to tend to and meadows, scrub and forestry to look after. Our days are varied, we begin making sure the birds are cared for but also spend a lot of time tackling the grounds, keeping vegetation clear from aviaries, removing invasive plants and maintaining out patches of forestry. We run the site as sustainably as possible meaning we take on all these tasks ourselves. Although not all of our work is directly with the vultures it is all for their benefit, and we are happy to teach people as much as we can about the birds and their importance.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Learn all about the running of our vulture conservation work, how to care for vultures and other birds of prey and also what it takes to successfully breed them for reintroduction programs. Learn with us as we discover more about the native species we have on site and also keeping invasive plant species in check. Work alongside people with a variety of skills who are happy to share and teach those skills.

Our day to day work involves providing care for the vultures we house for our conservation work, helping to feed and clean out doing our daily husbandry routines are our first tasks of the day. We spend a ot of our time trying to maintain and improve the housing for out birds so there is lots of cleaning, building/refurbishing and keeping plants and trees clear from the aviaries. This varies at different times of the year particularly if the birds are breeding and we limit time in the aviaries during this time.
We are also looking for help in maintaining and improving our beautiful site by clearing invasive plant species like rhododendrons, and managing the woodland and ponds. We need help to maintain the aviaries and replacing aging infrastructure to give the birds the best housing we can. The gardens around the buildings and aviaries also need some love and care from someone with greener fingers than we have.
We also welcome people who are happy to get involved in cleaning and decorating around the house as we improve the site for people joining our project

We have a two very friendly larger dogs who calls the place home also, so please be ready to show them some affection.
